After spending 3 straight days at Disney last week, I can say it is definitely a magical place. At the same time, it is the scariest of places. With the Magic Bands, Disney can track your every move in the park. They know where you are and what you are doing at all times.
There were two instances where we got freaked out. The first was at the It’s a Small World Ride. When we were coming into the last section that has the Goodbye signs in different languages, there was a Monitor that flashed Goodbye and named each member of my family. How did they know we were on the ride and in that spot at that exact moment? We did not use our magic bands when we entered the ride.
The second instant happened at the Be Our Guest Restaurant. We did have reservations, we had placed our lunch order online, and we did check in, however, they told us to pick any seat available in the restaurant. We went and got our drinks and silverware and found a table. Nobody came to our table to see who we were or get a name. A few minutes later, a very nice lady came up to the table with all our food. Again, how?? Obviously the magic bands are how. They are tracking you always with whatever chip is inside the magic bands.
To top that, when you enter the park you have to have your magic band scanned and at the same time, give them a finger print. So Disney now has my fingerprint!!! The whole thing is very Big Brother like and very scary actually.
Don’t get me wrong, we loved Disney and had a fabulous time. We just found it strange how much we were being tracked.
Now on to the Top 5 Disney Songs I never want to hear again. Throughout the 3 short days, I was so sick of hearing Disney songs and especially the Top 5. Here they are for your listening pleasure or nightmare.
5. “The Circle of Life” from the Lion King. I do love the movie “The Lion King”, but this is one of those songs that got played to death (okay…all Disney songs get played to death). After going to the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom, it reminded me of that fact and now I don’t want to hear it anymore. The Finding Nemo show is better BTW.
4. “Do You Want To Build a Snowman” from Frozen. If I never hear another Frozen song, it still won’t be long enough. They have so overplayed everything from that movie. Olaf is cute and adorable, but gets annoying just as fast.
3. “Hakuna Matata” from Lion King. Animal Kingdom is a wonderful and beautiful park. We had a blast seeing all the animals and riding the rides, but after sitting through the Lion King show at the park, I realized I can’t stand this song either and hate it more than “The Circle of Life”. Please stop playing it!!
2. “It’s A Small World” from the It’s A Small World ride. The song plays throughout the ride non-stop. Did I say NON-STOP???? By the time the ride ends, you can’t run out of that building fast enough. And then you catch yourself singing it ALL DAY LONG!!!
And the #1 Song I Don’t Ever Want to Hear Again…”Let It Go” from Frozen. The new Frozen ride is actually quite beautiful and entertaining. The kids loved it. But that song has been played so much that I think my kids even hate it now. Please, Please, don’t ever play that song again.
There you have it. I do not want to hear these songs ever again and if I catch you singing them, I will punch you in the face. Thanks Walt!!

I remember the boat ride and “It’s a Small World” looping constantly when we took your lovely wife back in the 1970’s. That song was hard to get out of my head.

Angie doesn’t remember that trip. She was way too young.

I know a couple of these songs. I’ve heard Let It Go but can’t remember how it, eerr, goes.

Don’t try to remember. My kids sang it constantly when it came out and one of my daughters dressed up as the character who sang the song so I was sick of it before we went to Disney.

OK, I laughed throughout this post because you were just like this in High School.

I am with you on the Disney songs. For me, since my daughter loved it all so much, I am REALLY burnt on the songs from the Little Mermaid. I could do without hearing any of them ever again.
Luckily, we’ve avoided the Frozen phenomenon. Our kids saw it, but didn’t really seem to care. Bullet dodged!
Can I lighten your Disney overload with a joke you can tell the kids?
Q: Why can’t you give Elsa a balloon?
A: She’ll let it go.
Seriously, little kids LOVE that joke. You’re welcome. 🙂

Big bullet dodged! Thanks for the joke. I will tell it to my kids. My oldest will roll her eyes, but my youngest might laugh. We will see.

Lol. I definitely agree with Let it Go. OMG it’s annoying! How was the Be Our Guest restaurant? We wanted to go but it was full! I tried making reservations a couple of months in advance but no dice.

It is nice. The food was delicious and the dining hall was beautiful. No Beauty or Beast came out, that was the only disappointing part.

Aww! It would’ve been cool to see Belle and/or the Beast. I don’t remember seeing them around when we went, either.
