Welcome to October and of course, I have a list of new releases for you to check out. There are definitely some I am getting this week and I will talk about those as they will be highlighted in Blue. There are not a ton, but hopefully you will find something. I know I have.
- Whitesnake – Whitesnake (30th Anniversary Edition) – (Parlophone Records): Duh!! No Brainer!!! I can’t believe it has been 30 years since this album was released. I have it on Vinyl, but I want this CD see. With classics like “Still of The Night”, “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love” you can’t go wrong with this one. The only downside is the Super Deluxe Edition, which I ordered, is on hold until October 27th. Oh well, still can’t wait to get ahold of it.
- The Darkness – Pinewood Smile – (Canary Dwarf Ltd): The glam metal band that glorifies the excess of 80’s rocks brings us their new album. After 5 albums has the schtick gotten old? We will see.
- Jeremy Camp – The Answer – (Stolen Pride Records): It is hard to believe but we are on studio album #11. This Christian artist who can be both rock and pop is one of my favorites. He really can’t do anything wrong as far as I am concerned. Looking forward to spin this one.
- Ace Frehley – Anamoly (Deluxe Edition) – (Entertainment One): Around 8 years after its original release, ‘Anaoly’ is getting a Deluxe treatment. I find it a little strange, but I will take. There is a 2 LP picture disc of this I wouldn’t mind having…maybe a nice Christmas present…hint..hint.
- Marilyn Manson – Heaven Upside down – (Marilyn Manson): For some reason, he interests me. I might not like everything he does, but usually I can find something I like on his albums so this will definitely be streamed to see if there is anything worth having.
- Liam Gallagher – As You Were – (Warner Bros.): Despite the fact Liam is a total Dick!!, I really do like his music. Oasis was awesome. I will put personal feelings aside and give it a listen because what I have heard so far sounds great…but Liam you are fucking douchebag!! (excuse my language)
- The Sweet Tea Project – Alder Lane Farm – (FuzzeFlex): Collective Soul’s frontman, Ed Roland, brings us the 2nd album of his side project. I love his voice so hoping for some great stuff.
- Autograph – Get Off Your Ass – (Emp Label Group)
- August Burns Red – Phantom Anthem – (Fearless Records)
- The Black Dahlia Murders – Nightbringers – (Metal Blade Records)
- Lisa Loeb – Lullaby Girl – (Furious Rose Productions)
- Dhani Harrison – In//Parallel – (BMG)
- Kane Brown – Kane Brown – (Sony Music)
- The Replacements – For Sale: Live at Maxwell’s 1986 – (Rhino)
- New Politics – Lost in Translation – (Warner Bros)
Dhani Harrison… long time coming there. Excited for that.

I have never really listened to Dhani, but since I know someone that has been working with him, I am going to give this one a try I think.

Liam Gallagher could be the best album ever made, but I’ll never know, because I’m sick of him. I bought the two Beady Eye albums and then he went stupid in the press. No more Liam for me, I’ve had it with that guy.
Darkness = must
Whitesnake = Christmas
Ace = also Christmas
Autograph = any original members left?
That is all.

Agreed on all of those, except I will listen to Liam, I just won’t buy it. Streaming only. Ace is also a Christmas item, buy I have already ordered the Whitesnake deluxe which I will get Oct 27th.
Autograph? I have no idea who is left in that one.

I will trust you to inform me if I blew it on Liam.
I am pretty sure the only original guy in Autograph was the drummer Keni. And then he was murdered.

That is more than I knew on the band. I had no idea there was still a band out there until I saw the new release. And that is awful on Keni.

I know. I read somewhere that it could have been a drug debt, but that he was clean.
Always like Autograph and my buddy Chris tells me that they got a whole new young audience thanks to the game Grand Theft Auto. He is a good 10 years younger than me, and he knows “Turn Up the Radio” from that game!

Well good for them. I like it when a band gets sort of rediscovered by the next generation.

Me too. Those “Rock Band” video games did a lot for that. But that’s 10 years ago now! That fad ended…

That would be awesome, but will never happen. I was at the record store today and they have the two disc version out.

I’m a stickler for that kind of stuff….Ace set the bar way to high on that debut….
I mean that album is his autobiographical as it comes….
Snowblind,Wiped Out, Ozone……

I agree, but I do like most everything he has done and have bought most everything. This will be no different.

Replacements, for me!
Also, I’m just happy to see Lisa Loeb still making records.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Lisa have an album as well.

Fairly intrigued by the Dhani Harrison release, so I’ll be checking that out. The Manson album is also on my radar, as I thought moments on his last album were pretty good.

You are the second person on Dhani. I might have to listen to that one. The Manson one was pretty good. I have only been through it once so far.

I haven’t heard thenewno2, but I really liked his album with Fistful Of Mercy. Intrigued to hear what he does on his own.

With Oasis as a group, I was able to separate the art from the artists, and like you, quite enjoy them.
With Liam as a solo artist, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to, but it’s worth a try!

I am going to try, but it keeps getting hard as Liam is such a douche.

Sorry! I don’t know who she is, but I am sad I missed it.

No worries! You can’t get everything, so I understand!
She’s an electronic artist who’s releasing her second album. Absolutely wonderful electronic music, here’s sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiRXSO_K7gQ

That explains it. I don’t listen to much electronic music. But she isn’t half bad. Thanks for sharing.
