It is already April and I can’t believe how fast time flies. We just got back from New York City for a family vacation and what a great time we had. I love that city!! Now, what do we have new this week you might ask. Well, we have a lot of different things, Metal, Rock, Southern Rock, Pop, Christian and so much more. My choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you want, if anything.
- The Dead Daisies – Burn It Down – (Spitfire Music): John Corabi and boys are back with yet another Dead Daisies release. They are pumping out the music and thankfully so. Since Corabi came on board, I have really loved these guys. And coming of Corabi’s recent Live album playing his one Motley Cure album in its entirety, I am ready for some more.
- Thirty Seconds to Mars – The New Album – (Interscope): Jared Leto and company are finally returning with some new music. He shares his time between movies and music and although I like his movies, he is one of the few actors that actually has some musical chops and Thirty Seconds to Mars rarely disappoints. Looking forward to this one as I have loved the first song and here it is…
- Blackberry Smoke – Find a Light – (3 Legged Records): Blackberry Smoke are keeping that Southern Rock/Country blend music alive. Hailing from my hometown of Atlanta, they always get my support. They are nothing short of amazing so give them a shot.
The next three are Various Artists albums celebrating two classic artists. The first is a collection of Johnny Cash poems sung by Chris Cornell and so many others. Then we have not one, but two collections of Elton John covers from some big named artists. I might have to check these out.
- Johnny Cash – Johnny Cash: Forever Words (Various Artists) – (Sony Legacy)
- Elton John – Revamp: The Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin (Various Artists) – (Virgin EMI)
- Elton John – Restoration: The Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin (Various Artists) – (Virgin EMI)
- Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow – Memories in Rock II – (Minstrell Hall Music)
- Underoath – Erase Me – (Fearless Records)
- Kamelot – The Shadow Theory – (Napalm Records)
- Hawk Nelson – Miracles – (Nashburnham)
- Kylie Minogue – Golden – (Darenote/BMG)
- Lisa Stansfield – Deeper – (Monkeynatra)
- Hillsong Worship – There is More (Live) – (Capitol Christian)
- Eels – The Deconstruction – (E Works)
According to our mutual friend HMO, Rainbow has two bonus tracks in Japan (the online-only single they did last year). So I ordered that, and the new Stryper from Japan!
Jared Leto — I will never forgive him for his Joker.

I listened to the Cash album earlier today. Some of it is genuinely very good.

I still have a habit of calling Jared Leto by his name from My So Called LIfe, Jordan Catalano.
But he played guitar on that show too, so nice to hear his talents extend beyond the screen!

He is a perfectionist with his music (and his acting). He will work on something for the longest time until he gets it to sound exactly like he envisioned it.

Will be checking out Rainbow and Cash.
Know the name and don’t know any of their songs but…. Jared Leto is in 30 Seconds from Mars? Learned something knew today.
