Happy Friday and welcome to this week’s list of notable releases…at least notable in my book. There is only one MUST HAVE and a couple others I will get to as well. Take a look and let me know what you are looking forward to and what I might have missed. My choices are highlighted in Blue.
- Tremonti – A Dying Machine – (Napalm Records): The Creed and Alter Bridge guitarist strikes out on his own with his other band Tremonti. This time he takes on lead vocals and fronts one hellavu hard rock band. If you are a fan, then this is a MUST HAVE in your collection as it is mine. The band bring us their fourth album…that is right…their fourth and we can never get enough.
- Sunstorm – The Road to Hell – (Frontier Records): The great Joe Lynn Turner brings his vocals to the band’s fifth album and the man can still sing at just 66 years young. The Hackensack-ack-ack-ack born singer has fronted a few bands you might have heard about…Rainbow and Deep Purple. He still brings the fire and intensity with Sunstorm. Check them out.
- Sugarland – Bigger – (Big Machine): Sugarland finally returns with a new album. After an 8 year hiatus since the last album, Kristian Bush and the great Jennifer Nettles return. I haven’t heard anything yet, but will be checking it out as I really do love Nettles’ voice. One of the few country acts I can dig.
- Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story (Soundtrack) – Various Artists – (Universal Music): I can’t wait to see this documentary about Mick Ronson who was a guitar great that played along side Dave Bowie as well as Mott the Hoople, Ian Hunter and his own solo work. Any soundtrack with his music will be worth listening to it…even if I have most of it already in one form or another.
- The Beach Boys – The Beach Boys with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra – (Capitol Records)
- Eric Clapton – Life in 12 Bars Soundtrack – (UMe)
- Dave Matthews Band – Come Tomorrow – (RCA)
- Megadeth – Killing Is My Business…And Business is Good…The Final Kill – (Columbia Records)
- TNT – Xiii – (Frontier Records)
- Ne-Yo – Good Man – (Motown Records)
- Dierks Bentley – Mountain – (Capitol Records Nashville)
- Dance Gavin Dance – Artificial Selection – (Rise Records)
Another week where nothing excites me. I dare say I’ll hear some of that Tremonti album, as a pal of mine is a fan.

The Tremonti one is the one I really want. Outside of that, I will eventually get to the other stuff.

The only thing new for me today was iTunes dropped onto my iPod another track from the Deluxe Edition of Guns Appetite 30th Anniversary which was Welcome To The Jungle from the Sound City demos.
Jungle is played on a slower tempo more Aerosmith Sleaze like…kind blew me away the first time I heard it which was ummm today!

Not much here for me, sadly. Was a time a new Dave Matthews album would have excited me, but it been so much of the same for so long (at least, what I’ve heard) that I just can’t get to it in the same way. I’m sure it’s excellent, don’t get me wrong!

I agree no the DMB. Just no excitement there at all anymore. I don’t even think I much publicity on the album. I guess at this point in their career the fans buy everything so no need to spend the money to advertise.

I assume they make their money on live shows, at this point. A new album just gives them something different to do in between the hits.

I would assume that as well
