Another great week and some awesome releases to grab hold of today. There is not a long list, but some varied and interesting stuff. My choices are highlighted in Blue. Slash – Living the Dream (Feat. Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators) – (Snakepit Records LLC): Where does Slash find the time to record with the heavy tour schedule since Guns N Roses reunited (most of the band anyway). Anything with Myles Kennedy on vocals is a must for me. Slash’s name just adds to the excitement. I will be spinning this one for sure.
Hardcore Superstar – You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘n Roll – (Gain/Sony): Here is a band that the US has kind of ignored and it is a shame. From what I have heard so far sounds great and this might be first up on the drive to work!! Give them a chance and check them out. You might like it!!
Prince – Piano & a Microphone 1983 – (NPG Records): I haven’t always liked his stuff, but I usually give a listen at least once since sometimes he is amazing and takes you on incredible journeys. That anticipation is enough to at least try it. He has earned that much respect!
And the rest actually interest me a little so they will get a spin sometime over the next few weeks. All depends on time.

I’m currently listening to their Reverend Billy… Big Bad Blues indeed! Sumac’s Love in Shadow is the other album I’m really looking forward to this week.

That Slash album is already on order for me but I haven’t been blown away by the preview tracks.

I see the Slash album has dropped straight to the iPod….

I started off the morning with Hardcore Superstars. A lot of fun and a great ride into work. What a throwback to 80’s rock. Can’t go wrong with that.

Not heard much of Slash’s solo stuff actually. Never appealed to me but I should maybe give it a go at least.

It is hit or miss for me. I like him more with Myles than the earlier stuff.

Colin James is one I will be looking for.
Also Billy, Slash, Voivod. Possibly Sumac and Prince.
I will check out Hardcore Superstar. Is Mary Catherine Gallagher in that band?
