July is almost over, but it isn’t going out before giving us one more week of new releases and there a quite a few, but only a few that I am really eager to hear and those that I will listen to when I have time. Matt Nathanson – Postcards (from Chicago) E.P. – (Acrobat Records): Well if you follow this site, then you know this is a no-brainer for me. I have already ordered the 10″ Orange vinyl and not sure when I will get it, but the digital download was ready for me first thing this morning. Matt, and at times friends, are doing a 6 song E.P. of cover songs and the list is quite diverse from Chance the Rapper to Richard Marx to Cheap Trick. Last year or so he did another that was a complete Def Leppard covers E.P. which was Fan’freaking’tastic. So high hopes for this one.
Soundgarden – Live at the Artists Den – (UMe): Soundgarden is releasing a live show from their 2013 Tour and it will be a full 29 song set and will remind us how great Chris Cornell was as a singer and a frontman. It will be available on Blue Ray, CD, LP and digital. Get the deluxe set to have it all.

Sugar Ray – Little Yachty – (BMG): Dang, didn’t know they were still doing music. I am interested in hearing this just to see what Mark McGrath and company are up to. And it’s summer and who doesn’t like a little California beach music. I know I will take it with a drink in my hand and toes in the sand…wait that is someone else.
Andy Grammer – Naive – (S-Curve Records): Andy Grammer is pure pop, but sometimes he is quite fun. He put on a great show a few years back when he opened for Train and the family likes him so this will probably get a spin around the house.

The Soundgarden one is so pricey too. It will be streamed for now. That new Matt Nathanson one is kind of a disappointment so far, but I still bought it regardless. First time I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed one of his releases in 15 years.

I purchased the Soundgarden ‘Den’ show from iTunes which was the cheaper way to go by a mile!
Got a 3-hour drive this afternoon to a buddies camp for the weekend so it will be a good time to check it out! The Boss won’t know what hits her when ‘Ty Cobb’ comes on! haha

I added the Soundgarden to my library and I’m tempted to check out Sugar Ray. Seems like a hundred years since Lemonade and Brownies.

I haven’t listened to it for many, many years, but I liked Mean Machine when I was a reckless youngster. It’s probably not too good.
