Happy Friday! I hope this post finds everyone still functioning after being homebound for way too long! At least we have new releases to look forward to and there is a nice long list. It was longer, but a bunch got moved to later in the year. There is enough variety that hopefully you will find something. This is where I would normally say my choices are highlighted in Blue, but you won’t see any of those this week as there is nothing really that floats my boat. Hopefully that isn’t the same for you. Let me know what you find interesting and what I may have missed. Hang in there and hopefully this will all be over soon. Have a great weekend.
- The Used – Heartwork – (Big Noise Music Group)
- Brendan Benson – Dear Life – (Third Man Records)
- Danzig – Sings Elvis – (Cleopatra)
- Lennon Stella – Three. Two. One. – (Columbia) – This one is for my kids!!
- Lovebites – Electric Pentagram – (JVCKENWOOD Victor Entertainment Corp / Red River Entertainment)
- Trivium – What the Dead Men Say – (Roadrunner Records)
- Warbringer – Weapons of Tomorrow – (Napalm Records)
- Lucinda Williams – Good Souls Better Angels – (Highway 20 Records / Thirty Tigers)
- Dance Gavin Dance – Afterburner – (Rise Records): Digital Only; July 10th for CD & Vinyl

Been waiting YEARS for that Danzig to come out so that’s a must buy! Even though I think it will probably be absolute rubbish…

It looks like it might be rubbish, but who knows, maybe it will surprise you.

It might do. He’s one of those guys that always has something good on each album even if it’s just a track or two.

That is how I feel about Rob Zombie. I don’t necessarily like everything he does, but each album has a handful of awesome tracks.

Interesting. The last Danzig album did nothing for me but there was one song Pull The Sun that was just fantastic. It was worth getting the album just for that.

I’ve found if they put enough albums, those one or two songs on each album adds up to a great playlist.

Nothing here really for my liking John. Thats ok though as I got Ozzy and 7 AC/DC albums last week. lol.

I don’t have anything new this week for me. Maybe I’ll play that one.

No blue highlights for me this week either – but still good to be informed!

Yep, that is what I want to do…inform. If something for you great, if not, maybe next week, but at least you saw what was coming out.

That one is not for me.

Probably not me either, but I get why he’s excited about it.

Some others are Axel Rudi Pell, Barishi, Cirith Ungol, Dark Forest, Elder, Mantric, Ron Keel Band, Trick or Treat and Witchskull.
I will be looking into Elder. Possibly Dark Forest, Witchskull, The Used, Warbringer, Trick or Treat.

I think the only one I’m surprised I didn’t know about is the Ron Keel one, not sure how I missed that one. Thanks for the adds.

Lucinda gets a nice groove on in that cut. Some wicked guitar. Nice and greasy.

Glad to hear, didn’t actually listen to it, but maybe I should.

Like I said, I dig the guitar licks. The Danzig thing might have a gem. Sometimes those covers inspire the artist to put a unique spin. I think I’ll give it a listen.
