You Pick It! – Which Album to Review in April?

You, my reader, are going to pick an album for me to review each month.  It is really simple…first, I will give you 5 albums to choose from and second, you will tell me which one of those you would like to see reviewed on the site.  See…simple!

There are a few simple rules I have put in to place in my selections.  They are…

  • One has to be a new release (within the last month)
  • One has to be one I have never heard before (new releases don’t count for this one)
  • One has to be from a genre I don’t normally listen to at all or very often
  • And the last two are choices from my collection that I haven’t reviewed before

What are the 5 albums you ask?  Funny you should ask because I have those right here…

New Release – Rob Zombie – ‘The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy’

Never Heard Before – King Crimson – ‘In the Court of the Crimson King’

Not My Normal Genre – David Lanz – ‘Cristofori’s Dream’

From My Collection – AC/DC – ‘For Those About to Rock’

From My Collection – The Cult – ‘Electric’

Let me know which one you would like to see and sometime in April, I will post a review of the album that gets the most votes. You have one week to decide and from there I will start listening to the album and do a review.

Thanks for participating!!

  1. Oooft. This is a tough one. I immediately thought Rob Zombie, but then saw Electric and that threw a spanner in the works. But… I’m gonna throw a vote in for Rob.

  2. Alright Snow, you got me with King Crimson. Since I don’t have any, and you and I have similar tastes, I want to hear what you think of that. If I could vote twice I’d pick The Cult, but I can’t. But just know in your heart I eventually want your opinion on both!

I’m sure you’ll get to AC/DC one day when you realize doing 14 series simultaneously isn’t enough and you need to do another one.

    1. Yes, I am sure AC/DC will get a series of their own down the road. And the Cult will get reviewed eventually as well. If you’re curious, the next two series that will be coming are Cheap Trick and Aerosmith!! But I do need to finish at least one of the series I am currently on before that happens.

      1. HOLY MOLY that’s pretty cool John. Cheap Trick will be educational for me. Aerosmith is one I tackled (mostly — I haven’t reviewed all the live ones) so I’ll be comparing notes there!

        1. On Aerosmith, it will be mostly just studio albums with a handful of live. Cheap Trick will be studios and Budokan of course as well as all the RSD vinyl I own of theirs which I believe I have 5 different releases.

      2. Cheap Trick and Aerosmith!! Honkin’ on Bobo. Only kidding. Will u be reviewing box sets too or only studio albums? Where do u find the time?
These days shuffle is my best friend. Don’t have the stamina to listen whole discographies so I mostly let shuffle surprise me. Like now I’m listening to Mo Forever Neverland.
Almost forgot my choice. For me it’s either Angus or Duffy. I’ll go with the cannon. Makes the most noise.

        1. Oh, I won’t be starting those two series for awhile. I need to finish up at least one of the three I’m doing. As far as time, I work from home now and if I’m not on a call, there is an album spinning.

        1. Regular first always. Hear it as the people back then heard it for the first time. As it was originally intended. Then explore the expanded if you like it enough.

Being totally honest with you, I’ve heard this album, but not in a long time and I’m not that knowledgeable on it. Unlike VU & Nico. I love prog, but for some reason never took to KC the way I did to Yes, Genesis, and Rush.

      1. Not like I needed to, seems like King Crimson is pulling out way ahead. It’s like voting for president, totally useless.

    1. Yeah, I believe it is. I’ve already started listening to it as that is how much confidence i have in its victory. I’m not even waiting a week. Thanks so much for playing along!!
