We had a slow week last week and this week is a little bit better but neither up to the pace of what we have been seeing and will be seeing in the coming weeks. But there are releases which is always a good thing. I have two I am interested in hearing and maybe even buying. I have highlighted those in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear or what I may have missed that is out today and not on the list. That way everyone can know what all is out today. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful and wild weekend!!
- The Wallflowers – Exit Wounds – (New West Records): It has been way too long since the last Wallflower album. The last one from Jakob Dylan and company was way back in 2012 so we are talking 9 years ago…crazy. I am excited to have them back on the scene and this will be the first thing I listen to this morning. Can’t wait to see how they’ve changed since the last one and still hoping for that classic Wallflower sound though!!
- Almost Famous Original Soundtrack (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) – (Geffen Records): In what might be one of my all time favorite movies, I am excited it see this massive deluxe edition out for the soundtrack. The digital is out today and the 2CD set I believe. The big deluxe albums won’t be out for a few more weeks and they will be 5 CDs or 6LPs worth of music. There will be all the songs from the movie including all the Stillwater tracks plus the demos of those Stillwater tracks with the songwriters singing (such as Nancy Wilson). This should be sweet!!
And that is all for me…check out all the the releases today!!
- L.A. Guns – Cocked & Loaded Live – (Frontiers Records)
- Hardline – Heart, Mind And Soul – (Frontiers Records)
- Toby Hitchcock – Changes – (Frontiers Records)
- The Rolling Stones – A Bigger Bang (Live) – (Promotone / Mercury / Universal)
- The Maine – XOXO: Love & Anxiety in Real Time – (Photo Finish Records)
- Graduating Life – II – (Pure Noise Records)
- Royal Canoe – Sidelining – (Paper Bag Records)
- Jam & Lewis – Jam & Lewis, Vol. 1 – (Flyte Tyme Productions / BMG)
- Amy Grant – Heart in Motion (30th Anniversary) – (Amy Grant Productions)
- Mariah the Scientist – Ry Ry World – (RCA / Sony)
- Snoh Aalegra – Temporary Highs in the Violet Skies – (Artium Recording / Roc Nation Records)
- The Flatlanders – Treasure of Love (feat. Butch Hancock, Joe Ely & Jimmie Dale Gilmore) – (Rack ‘Em Records / Thirty Tigers)
- Tigirlily – Tigirlily E.P. – (Monument Records / Sony)
- Lucinda Williams – Lu’s Jukebox Vol 2: Southern Soul: From Memphis to Muscle Shoals – (Highway 20 Records)
- Berried Alive – The Mixgrape – (Berried Alive Productions): I clicked on the video and if the rest of the album is like this, this might be pretty freaking awesome!!
- Mayhem – Atavistic Black Disorder / Kommando E.P. – (Century Media Records)
- Swoope – 24 – (Native No. / Empire)
- Bad Luck – Summer of Pain – (Take This to Heart Records)
- KBong – Let Love Lead – (KBong)
- Aybe Lexington – 6803 – (The Clariteye Company)
Inhaler – It Won’t Always Be Like This – (Polydor Records)
The Wallflowers I will give a spin and check it out. How many LA Guns live albums are there out now with all the different lineup changes? lol They are Spinal Guns. The Stones I will check out as its live as well…
Thanks for doing your rock n roll duty every Friday Snowman!

You are welcome Deke! It is my pleasure. The Wallflowers was pretty good, need more than the one listen its had so far. Yes, L.A. Guns lost me when there were two…or was it three…versions.

I’ll vote for The Wallflowers – though if Almost Famous emerges victorious, I won’t complain!

u talking about the massive set with cd’s and vinyl, right? Find this for u if it helps..
For any US folks the super deluxe is back in stock at uDiscover and their 25% off sale code works on this set too – SUMMER25.
…but that price, still. I get what u mean.

I’m a little pissed with uDiscover right now as the messed up my Queensryche Box Sets delivery. It has been a pain in the ass fixing it. Still not fixed actually.

New Wallflowers! Excellent! I was actually listening to Glad All Over earlier today without realising there was a new one to go check out!

Talk about timing!! I need to listen to it some more. One listen was not enough to judge it yet.

Totally, yeah. While you can enjoy an album on a first listen, you definitely need to get to know it before judging.
