Friday New Releases – April 8, 2022

It is Friday! And you know what that means…New Music!! We have a ton of releases for you this week and there are several I am interested in hearing, I’m not sure about buying them yet, but I will stream them. My choices are in Blue. There is a lot of variety on here so I am sure there will be something for everyone. Let me know what you want to hear and what I may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend.

  • 41496fPlhkL._AC_UY436_FMwebp_QL65_  Joe Satriani – The Elephants of Mars – (Edel Music / earMusic): Joe Satriani never has a shortage of new music. This is his 18th Studio album over the last 36 years which is a new one every 2 years. Can’t beat that (unless you are Guided By Voices). I really loved his early albums but the later albums have been a little spotty for me, but he is still one of my favorite guitarists.
  • A1yTLUWrtPL._AC_UY436_FMwebp_QL65_  Papa Roach – Ego Trip – (New Noize Records / ADA Warner Music): Now on their 11 Studio album Papa Roach is back to deliver their brand of rock…which is nu metal, rap rock, hard rock, alt. rock, alt metal or whatever you want to call it. All I know, is they have some great songs so will be happy to add some more to the collection.
  • Envy of None – Envy of None – (KScope): Andy Curran and Alex Lifeson…yes please!! I can’t believe I missed this one originally…it is now added.
  • 81bwWlqztrL._AC_UY436_FMwebp_QL65_  Aerosmith – 1971: The Road Starts Here – (Universal Music / Queen of Denial): Already released on RSD in 2021…this will be the CD/MP3 release. This is a live recording of Aerosmith before they released any albums. It is pretty awesome. Since it has been released, not an actual new release, but so good I want to let every one know they can stream it or buy it on CD now.
  • 81WWd7K55XL._AC_UY436_FMwebp_QL65_  Treat – The Endgame – (Frontiers Records): Sweden’s glam metal band has been putting out some great records since their reunion back in 2006 and for that, I am excited to hear what they have to offer this time around. They might be even better than they were back in the 80’s.
  • 91fXvqBTD8L._AC_UY436_FMwebp_QL65_  Jack White – Fear of the Dawn – (Redz): It is Jack White…enough said.

  1. Have I told u that this is one of my favorite things in the week to be here reading your Friday releases list? It is. Such a joy. I’m sitting here, listening to blues (Stevie & friends: solos, sessions & encores) drinking Pepsi and reading about upcoming releases. Is there a better way to start the day?

I’m in for Papa Roach, Satriani, Treat, Inglorious and since I adore Robin I just ordered the new Black Swan.

    Just saw this one too:

    H.E.A.T – “Nationwide”
    seen it yet?

  2. Envy of None is released today as well John so I will be checking that out. Kinda shady of Aero to release RSH as a RSD release and now its available everywhere as I would have waited til now. Why do that? Oh right it’s called dough! lol
    Thanks as always

    1. The RSD release for Aero was only a “First Release” it wasn’t exclusive. I knew it going in based on that description…sorry!!

I can’t believe I don’t have Envy of None because I knew about it. I think I felt it was already on my list somewhere so oops!!

  3. I heard some of the Envy of None songs, and they’re good. I might grab First Signal too. Harry Hess’ voice is still awesome. As always, thanks for the list.

  4. This is the first I hear of First Signal. I noticed there are three albums in the discography. Harry has kept busy, as usual. Has anyone heard the other albums?

  5. I have a new phone – my old one was struggling to load these epic new release posts. I’m interested in Let’s Eat Grandma. I hated that ubiquitous Wet Leg song but I liked the most recent single.

  6. The Papa Roach would definitely get a listen. I like the variation on their albums with so many different styles.

And the Treat album will as well. Plus I had no idea about the Lifeson/Curran project so thanks for bringing that to my attention.
