It is Friday yet again. It is funny how this day shows up the same time every week. It is amazing. Not as many releases this week as the past two, but still some interesting choices. The ones in blue are the ones I will be listening to over the next couple of days.
Thousand Foot Krutch – Exhale – (Tfk Music) – I have been a fan of theirs for awhile and pick up anything they put out. I haven’t been overly impressed with what I have heard so far, I hope listening to the album in full will be better.
Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Getaway – (Warner Bros.) – The new Red Hot Chili Peppers album is finally out. I haven’t listened to anything yet and have been waiting to hear it all at once.
Stitched Up Heart – Never Alone – (Another Record Co.) – There are not enough metal bands fronted by women. I am eager to hear this band. I am hoping for another Halestorm or Pretty Reckless. From the video, it doesn’t look like I will be disappointed.
Elizabeth Cook – Exodus of Venus – (Agent Love Music) – The only thing I like about country music right now are the women. The guys are awful. I am looking forward to giving this one a spin to see what she has to offer.
Mumford & Sons – Johannesburg (EP) – (Glassnote) – I have not been a huge fan of Mumford & Sons, but they continue to intrigue me. I am going to give it a try and see what develops. I am slowly coming around.
Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers – Rehab Reunion – (Savoy)
Radiohead – A Moon Shaped Pool – (XI Records)
case/lang/veirs – case/lang/veirs – (Anti/Epitaph)
The Misfits – Friday the 13th – (Misfits Records)
The Game – Streets of Compton – (Entertainment One Music)
We the Kings – So Far – (S-Curve)

Jeez another great Friday. I forgot the RHCP was out today!

Got the new Gojira here! Looking forward to listening to it. What’s the Misfits one? Didn’t know about that.

The Misfits is a four song EP worth the tracks “Friday the 13th”, “Nightmare on Elm Street”, “Laser Eye” and “Mad Monster Party”. I saw it on Amazon.

Not familiar with Gojira. I will check them out.

Check out their new song ‘Stranded’, it’s excellent. (Might depend on your tolerance for shouty vocals though). I’ll check out that Misfits release, thanks!

I have been through about 1/2 the Gijora album. The shouty vocals were not bad at all. I don’t care for constant screaming, but this was definitely tolerable. I liked “Stranded” and thought “The Cell” was badass. Thanks for the suggestion.

Geez, there are so many bands/artists making so much music that I simply can’t keep up with hearing it all! Was not familiar with Thousand Foot Krutch, but like “Running With Giant.” I’ve never been a huge Red Hot Chili Peppers fan, but I’m really liking their new sound on “The Getaway.” As you know, “Dark Necessities” is my current favorite song. Am also loving what I’ve heard from Radiohead’s latest.

I agree. Too many releases and no way to listen to all of them. It is exhausting sometimes.
