The Summer is in full swing and we are now in August, hard to believe. And August starts out with a bang for me as I am really excited about two releases today. Mammoth WVH’s second album simply called Mammoth II with Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfie!! The debut was awesome and with this kid’s talent, I don’t expect anything less. The second release is from a guy I have been following ever since Jessie’s Girl. That is right, Rick Springfield is back with another new release and he might be aging, but his music doesn’t seem to as it is always solid. Both of these are set to be delivered today.   4. I haven’t heard Rick Springfield’s name since Coheed and Cambria released their sequel to Jessie’s Girl. I was looking at some Rock Candy releases and saw one of Rick’s albums come up. Coincidence?

    I’ll probably get the Mammoth album. The kid definitely has talent.

  8. I hadn’t thought about Jesus and Mary Chain since the 80’s. Lol. Might check theirs out, but definitely will be listening to Dr. Noah Drake and will be checking out Wolfie’s sophomore effort as well. Thanks for the weekly dose of new music!

  10. I got through the first 4 or 5 tunes on Springfield’s new record this AM – a little too pop focused for me, but love that the guy is out there touring and making new music at 75. We saw him about 7 or 8 years ago with Richard Marx. Springfield was good, Marx was freaking amazing.

    I somehow missed the new Mammoth scrolling through the new releases section of YouTube Music this AM. I’ll have to check that out.     Been listening to a lot of the Cranberries lately..To the Faithful Departed is on now. How do feel about them?
