As Fall starts tomorrow and temperatures start to cool down, we bring another list of new releases and for me things have cooled down. As there have been a bunch of releases this month that I have bought so it is nice to have an off week. The great thing about calling your album Satellite Aphrodite is the urge to mispronounce one of those words every time you say it never goes away.

Ha!! That is true. You have to really concentrate when reading those words.

They’ve been playing free shows in laundromats the last couple weeks… and I think Kat went to go see them at an actual concert last week.

Ha! Good on them for playing laundromats.

I’m checking out Bonfire (not in list), Starbenders (based on the cover) and the new Arkells (based on Mr Ladano)

Sounds like a good bunch of records to check out. Oops on the Bonfire but not on the list I pull from as I would’ve included them since I know who they are.

Thanks! It’s an acoustic album they recorded spontaneously, unplanned.

The Jason Mraz release is kinda funny. Imagine being in a band and the description for them is “we sing, we dance, we steal things.” I don’t know, I just find that hilarious. Nothing for me this week, though. Thanks for doing this, John!

I’ll take your word for it, especially since that album has “Lucky” and “I’m Yours.” The latter is overplayed, but I still dig it.
