I don’t have a long list of releases, but there are some I have been waiting on for awhile like Chevelle and Switchfoot. Plus a few more that I can’t wait to hear which are all listed in Blue.
Chevelle – The North Corridor – (Epic): It has been 2 years since their last release, so I am excited for some new music from these guys. The songs I have heard so far, have been great. I hope the rest of the album is as well.
Switchfoot – When the Light Shines Through – (Vanguard): Quite different from Chevelle, but just as good. I have enjoyed these guys since ‘The Beautiful Letdown’ in 2003. Their last album ‘Fading West’ was great and went along with a documentary on the band that I saw on Netflix. Always great things from this band.
Nonpoint – The Poison Red – (Spinefarm): I have never been a superfan, but do enjoy when they release a new album. There are always a handful of songs that I like and now have a great collection of songs from them. I hoping that tradition will continue and based on “Generation Idiot” it looks like it will.
Heart – Beautiful Broken – (Concord Records): I haven’t enjoyed their last couple releases, but this one looks promising based on the first single “Beautiful Broken” which includes James Hetfield from Metallica. Plus, it is Heart. I will always give them the benefit of the doubt and listen.
Biffy Clyro – Ellipsis – (14th Floor Records): A great band out of Scotland. I wasn’t real familiar with them prior to their album “Opposites” and then it was only because of someone I know that worked on the album. They don’t get much airplay that I have heard. Their new song “Animal Style” sounds great.
Anderson/Stolt – Invention of Knowledge – (Inside Out Music)
Will Downing – Black Pearls – (Shanachie)
The Avalanches – Wildflower – (Astralwerks)
Schoolboy Q – Blank Face – (Interscope)

I really like the Switchfoot track “Float.” A lighter sound for them, kinda like OneRepublic. Was not familiar with Nonpoint, but “Generation Idiot” is a real head-banger. I discovered Biffy Clyro on a recent ‘Later…With Jools Holland’ show, and they’re awesome in live performances. There’s just too much great music available today, which is a good thing!
