With the conventions now behind us, this is what I learned about our candidates. I don’t really like either of them and I am going to have an extremely hard time deciding between the two. I will have to do a lot of research into what issues matter to me and where they stand on those issues.
In the meantime, in watching what little of the conventions I did, each candidate is painting a picture of the other candidate that is so not flattering…as they should. My take away is that I think songs can sum up nicely what the parties think of each other.
Since I am a gentlemen and ladies first, here is how I interpret what the Republicans think of Hillary Clinton:
“Breaking the Law” by Judas Priest
“Lies” by Thompson Twins
“Evil Woman” by Electric Light Orchestra
“Mz. Hyde” by Halestorm
“American Monster” by Everclear
Now here is what I think the Democrats want you to think about Donald Trump
“Your Racist Friend” by They Might Be Giants
“Megalomaniac” by Incubus
“Dangerous” by Shinedown
“The Devil is Me” by Kiss
“Startariot” by Hellyeah!
And on another note, artist want the candidates to stop using their songs during their campaign stops. Here is a hilarious parody by some major artists from Last Week Tonight.
This was hilarious. Politics tend to be picking the lesser of two evils. This time around? No good option. 😕

Thanks. It was fun putting the list together. I wish we could have a do over on the candidates. It is a horrible situation we have put ourselves in and the voters are to blame (and the media).

Yep. I hate politics. I’ll be glad when it’s done. Of course, then we’ll have to listen to everybody bitching. Mostly from those who didn’t even vote. 😏

You can’t bitch if you don’t vote!! That is my rule.

Oh man, we saw that track on John Oliver’s show. Brilliant.
I might throw the ol’ fave Masters Of War (Bob Dylan) in there for both of them.

I busted a guy laughing so hard when I saw that the first time. And nice add with the Dylan track.

Might be the only thing that made me like some of the artists involved! 😉
Meant to say, too, great idea for a post. I don’t envy Americans at all, having to choose between the evil of those two lessers. I wish you all the best, come November. Yer gonna need it.

Thanks. I actually feel sorry for us and can only imagine what the rest of the world thinks. I have never been this close to an election and confused on who should get my vote.

A lot can happen between now and then, too. Good luck!

I’ve been following this whole thing with interest. Definitely one of these worse than the other and I found Trump hilarious until I realised that folks were behind him. It’ll be interesting to see how things go after Bernie lit a match and said ‘things can be different’. That said, most things I read mention one or the other, rather than raising the possibility of a ‘third party’ (Greens?). I guess it’s been two party in the States for so long that it’s inevitable it’ll be one of these two?

A third party doesn’t stand a chance. The media won’t support them since they are already in the back pockets of the 2 main parties. I never expected Trump to get the nominee. The dumbing down of America has happened. I still love my country, just think we are filled with a bunch of idiots.

That’s unfortunate. Clearly why Bernie didn’t stand a chance despite his popularity. Good luck when it rolls around …

Hillary is not perfect but I can’t EVEN fathom the idea of voting for Trump. I’ve seen all I need to see from him. Xenophobia, racism….etc…I just can’t with him.
Regardless, this is a pretty cool post my friend 🙂

Thank you mam! I completely understand what you are saying. I can’t argue either way right now.

Funny post. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry about this election. I guess I’ll laugh now, cry later.

Thanks. I am choosing to laugh now as well. We might all be crying for the next 4 years.
