Happy Friday and May the 4th Be With You!! Yes, I went there on Star Wars Day!! There aren’t a ton of releases but a few I am excited about. I will highlight those in Blue as usual. Go through and let me know what you like or what I might have missed. I hope you enjoy and have a great weekend.
Shinedown – Attention Attention – (Atlantic Recording): The main one I want to hear is the new Shinedown album. The song “Devil” was freaking awesome and I love the whole idea of loose concept album. It isn’t a full on concept album, but the songs will take you on a journey of a person who is starting in a very dark, ominous place and take you all the way through to the other side where this person is done battling his mind and his issues and coming out a changed person. Check out “Devil” and then get this album.
Mat Kearney – CRAZYTALK – (Tomorrow Music): Mat Kearney is one of the finer singer/songwriters out there and he never gets enough credit. He has some great pop sensibilities, but takes risk and tries new things. I don’t like to listen to his albums ahead of time, I like to be surprised and I hope this will bring many.
Galactic Empire – Episode II – (Rise Records): And for Star Wars Day there is nothing better than Galactic Empire. The Star War Heavy Metal Band brings a new batch of Space Metal Songs. I am going to post two songs. The first one is a track from the new album. The second is an old track but an actual music video so you can see what you are in for and not just hear it. Wow!!
Parkway Drive – Reverence – (Epitaph)
Lincoln Brewster – God of the Impossible – (Integrity Music)
Joey Alexander – Eclipse – (Motema Music)
Belly – Dove – (Belly Touring)
Matt & Kim – Almost Everyday – (Fader)
The Temptations – All the Time – (Universal Music)
Happy Star Wars Day! Well, Galactic Empire is perfect for May The Fourth. Had to blast those two vids with my coffee, perfect start to the day thanks 🙂 And Fett rocking those drums. Class.

The videos are pretty darn funny, but the music is actually great. Yes, a perfect band for a perfect day!

Reef and Gaz Coombes have album’s out today, so I’ll likely check them out (though I haven’t been too impressed with the Reef stuff I’ve heard).

You always have a couple I know nothing about. Which is great as it gets me new things to explore.

Yeah, I find loads of stuff to check out thanks to this community of ours. So much music that I either didn’t know about or I discarded!
I think you’d like Gaz, y’know. Reckon his stuff would appeal.

I wish I liked Galactic Empire, I really do. The joke wears thin too quickly and it makes me want to play the originals.

I understand for sure. It is a novelty, but I was surprised that it was better than I expected when I first heard them.

Galactic Empire WTF!!! I don’t know if that’s brilliant, or totally pitiful – I can’t process it yet.

It is a little bit of both!! It is pitifully brilliant.

Something tells me that Galactic Empire timing wasn’t accidental…Interesting that the Han Solo movie doesn’t come out for a few weeks, they managed to resist the temptation!
