Finally!! A fantastic week of releases. There have been some okay weeks, but this one has the most so far that I am interested in this year. So, I am not going to ramble on and on…my choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you are interested in hearing or anything I might have missed. Happy Friday!!
Whitesnake – Slide It In (35th Anniversary Ultimate Special Edition) – (Rhino Records): Whitesnake has a knack for delivering fantastic box sets, if you don’t believe me just check out the Unzipped and ’87 Box Sets I have reviewed. This one seems even better. 6 Cds including the US & UK releases remastered, live shows and demos/remixes and whatever else they throw in. Oh, and you get a DVD full of videos and interviews…No Brainer!! Ordered and will be at the house when I arrive home from work
Tesla – Shock – (Universal Music): Tesla has been going strong since the 80’s and this one brings us a little twist. Producing the album is none other than Phil Collen from Def Leppard. Teslas has opened for Lep many, many times and a bond has been formed. Can’t wait to hear what Phil pulled out of the guys…I am sure it will be fantastic.
Buckcherry – Warpaint – (The Century Family): Buckcherry!! It has been almost 4 years since the last album and that is 4 years too long. I haven’t heard anything on purpose as I want to hear it all at once. So here is a video that I have not watched….
And here are a couple more I will probably end up giving a listen…
Damon Johnson – Memoirs of an Uprising – (Double Dragon Records)
Dido – Still On My Mind – (BMG)
James Morrison – You’re Stronger Than You Know – (Stanley Park Records)
David Gray – Gold in a Brass Age – (iht Records)
And the rest…
Iron Savior – Kill or Get Killed – (AFM Records)
Savage After Midnight – 11:59 E.P. – (The Century Family)
Flight of the Conchords – Live in London – (Sub Pop Records)
Tedashii Never Fold – (Reach Records)
Foals – Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost: Part 1 – (Warners Music)
Patty Griffin – Patty Griffin – (PGM/Thirty Tigers)
I’m a huge fan of Foals, so looking forward to their new one.

Can’t wait. Mine is on its way as well. I am hoping it is there waiting on my Kitchen counter when I get home (that is where the mail usually ends up).

Whitesnake is the biggie no doubt.
Tesla man I really want to like but the tracks I heard are kinda iffy at best. I will wait for your review John…

Def Leppard dropped an new album this morning!!! It is called Shock and Joe’s voice sounds a little like that guy from Tesla. Strange!!! (there is my review).

Not much getting my motor running this week.
Odd side note – I read a print music mag for the first time in ages last night and there’s a review of Jenny Lewis’ (of Rilo Kiley) new album and I can’t help but wonder if it’s cover is an homage to Slip it In – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Line_(Jenny_Lewis_album) – probably not though

Nothing for me this week… I might (might) check out the Buckcherry album, though I’m not expecting much, as I haven’t liked an album of theirs since the debut…
(I was fairly interested in the Tesla album, but don’t think I’ll bother on account of Deke’s comment).

I argued last week that they’re a group that if you loved years ago, you’ll still love now. If you didn’t, you probably still won’t. Fortunately for me, that’s a good thing, as I continue to love them!
