Today is Good Friday!! In more ways than I can explain right now. Easter is this weekend and, the kids are out of school for a week…oh what should we do!! First, we should check out the new music. There isn’t a whole lot as it is Easter weekend. Only one that I will definitely listen to and the rest…maybe or maybe not. My choices are highlighted in Blue.
JohnnySwim – Moonlight – (Johnnyswim): Johnnyswim are a husband/wife duo who I am not that familiar with. I saw them open for Needtobreathe and I really enjoyed the show, so I will be checking them out. Plus Chip Gaines of Fixer Upper loves them and his wife had them play for his birthday…I don’t think I could afford to have any band play for my birthday!!
Rolling Stones – Honk – (Universal Music): Yes, another greatest hits package from the aging rockers. This was to be for their upcoming tour which is now postponed due to Mick having heart surgery. Prayers out to you sir!! I will spin it, but when I feel in the mood for it. Won’t be rushing out to get.
Josh Groban – Bridges Live: Madison Square Garden – (Reprise Records): What a voice Mr Groban has. And he is quite funny as well. Here we have a live album of all his wonderful hits and then some. This might be a good one to check out.

Ryan Adams – Big Colors – (Blue Note Records) – CANCELLED!!!!! If the stories are true, we won’t be hearing from him in a long while. Before the news came out of his unkindly behavior this was the drop date of his new album. I wonder how long it will take for it to come out!!

I was very confused when you were writing about Bryan Adams’ new album earlier then said it was being cancelled. They should choose more different names….

I have never heard of JohnnySwim but I do enjoy their voices, especially hers.
I may check them out.
Also, I do like Cage The Elephant so I may look into this one as well.
I thought about getting Honk, but I have most of their studio albums (I just bought a good used copy of Goats Head Soup on vinyl yesterday), so I think I’ll pass.

Cage The Elephant was on my list, as I really liked the single, but I haven’t checked it out yet.
I had forgotten about the Ryan Adams album. I’ve been listening to his music for many a year and while I’ve always had him down as an asshole, I have been disappointed by the shenanigans reported… and the cancellation of the album release.
Anyhoo, I’m a bit out of the loop with album release dates these days. I’m just not paying attention!

Yup. Very disappointing. I have Perry Farrell and Mark Lanegan album’s to look forward to, but that’s all I’m excited about.
