Welcome to the first Friday of December. Christmas is just around the corner and here are a few ideas to either get yourself for Christmas or get someone else. There is only one I am interested (highlighted in Blue), so I can concentrate on my year end list some more. I hope there is something for you.
The Who – WHO – (Polydor / Universal): After a mere 13 years, the Who is back with a new album. I have to say, I am intrigued to hear what they have to offer even if it is only Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey which it has been for years, I know. We will see…or hear…
These are probably the big releases in the pop world…
Camila Cabello – Romance – (Simco / Epic / Sony)
Liam Payne – LP1 – (Capitol Records): Debut from the former One Direction Star
A couple rock/metal albums for you…
Nightwish – Decades: Live in Buenos Aires – (Nuclear Blast)
The Murder of My Sweet – Brave Tin World – (Frontiers Records)
Smile Empty Soul – Sheep E.P. – (Smily Empty Soul LLC)
Authority Zero – Live at the Rebel Lounge – (Authority Zero)
And the rest…
Kylie Minogue – Kylie: Golden Live in Concert – (BMG Rights Mgmt)
Mary J. Blige – HERstory Vol. 1 – (Geffen Records)
Wow! You weren’t kidding about it being slim pickings! Nothing here for me… and I can’t think off the top of my head if there’s anything I’m keen to get my hands on.

We are in to the dead zone of the new releases. One more week and that is it until mid-January. Which means I have to come up with something to replace the posts which will keep me busy as the New Release posts are fairly easy.

I’m on the fence with The WHO album. Its priced reasonably on iTunes with the deluxe edition so we shall see.
The rest is slim pickings as you say.

Yes, I’m on the fence as well. I will stream it, but probably nothing more than that.

As always I am curious about The Who. I bought Endless Wire. It wasn’t a great album, but it had a few great tunes. I assume the Who will pull a couple more modern day goodies out of the basket. But I don’t know. So many other things to prioritize.

Thank goodness for streaming, so I can try it before I buy it and streaming is probably it for me on this one. My purchasing is gonna need to slow a little now.

Well I played that one single you got there, and it was OK but now I just want to listen to old Who!

I like how your new releases posts are a win either way, John – either it’s a win in terms of new music that really intrigues me or it’s a win for the bank account, where nothing demands to be purchased immediately!

The Who just because. Have heard a few cuts (including the one younposted) and like them. Give it a more sustained listen in the next while.

Still haven’t listened to it. Glad you are digging it

The Who’s (Roger/Pete) direction changed years ago but still enough musical ideas to keep me tuning in.
