You, my reader, are going to pick an album for me to review each month. It is really simple…first, I will give you 5 albums to choose from and second, you will tell me which one of those you would like to see reviewed on the site. See…simple!
There are a few simple rules I have put in to place in my selections. They are…
- One has to be a new release (within the last month)
- One has to be one I have never heard before (new releases don’t count for this one)
- One has to be from a genre I don’t normally listen to at all or very often
- And the last two are choices from my collection that I haven’t reviewed before
What are the 5 albums you ask? Funny you should ask because I have those right here…
New Release – AC/DC – ‘Power Up’ – a lot of my fellow bloggers will be reviewing this one, so it is up to you if you want to hear my take on it as well.
Never Heard Before – The White Stripes – ‘Elephant
Not My Normal Genre – Janet Jackson – ‘Rhythm Nation 1814’
From My Collection – The Stooges – ‘The Stooges’
From My Collection – Oasis – ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory’
Let me know which one you would like to see and sometime in December, I will post a review of the album that gets the most votes. You have one week to decide and from there I will start listening to the album and do a review.
Thanks for participating!!

Wasn’t sure I would get votes on her, but I glad I got one.

I eventually want you to review ‘Power Up,’ but I CAN’T wait until December!!!! I’m curious about how you got that Janet Jackson album? I’m not a fan, but just curious how you got that album, since I never thought you’d be into that stuff anyways.

I want to spend some time with it if it wins and don’t want to rush it out. Now Janet, easy, I picked it up in a collection of CDs someone was giving away and I kept it. I like the song Black Cat.

Ah I see, you want time to connect with the new album before you rush and do a review, that’s cool! I think it’s awesome that you like stuff other than rock! Guess I don’t have to feel ashamed about liking some pop stuff too.

While you are correct in saying that everyone will be talking about the new AC/DC, I still would like your take on it.

4 of these are on the 1001 – and one day the new ACDC may be as well!
I’d be interested in hearing your take on The White Stripes, John

Oasis! I love early Oasis. That is the album that got me into the band, so I can only hope you like it as much as I do.

Oasis is counted. I think this is the first vote for it so far.

Ah well. Long shot. I’ll demand a recount.

There could be some voter fraud as I am the one counting it. Maybe we need Geoff to track the votes.

I can vouch for that guy! Upstanding vote counter.
Here’s a question for you — what are the chances of you reviewing Oasis at some point in the future if it loses? I don’t know if you will love it but I think you will like it.

Absolutely down the line I will review them all. I like the band.

OK. My vote stands (no recount necessary) and I look forward to a future Oasis discussion with you at some point down the line!
This is a fair vote, the fairest in history.

I’m a fan of what I’ve heard from The Stooges. They were hard…I mean hard on many of their songs….and raw.

I really like that one myself. I picked it up in a collection and just loved it from the first time I heard it.

Iggy was quite a performer also. They were punk before punk.

Boo hiss to Vinyl Connection, as I want to see you review Janet Jackson’s album (I did a write-up of it a few months ago). I’m sure AC/DC will win out in the end tho’.

AC/DC will be everywhere for a while, I say Stooges. Love the Janet Jackson outlier, and I (personally) hope it’s not Oasis. Not a fan. But to each their own!

Unless Oasis gets a ton of votes in the next couple days, you don’t have to worry about it being them. Thanks for the vote!

Well, fair play to Oasis fans, it just ain’t my cuppa. And I’ll always vote Stooges. Man I love them, and that LP… classic.
