You made it through another week and you should celebrate by getting yourself some new music. Luckily for you, I have a list of a lot of new releases that come out today and there are some goodies in here. There a few I’ll listen to this week as I will see if I still don’t like Queens of the Stone Age by listening to their new one. I think I’ll enjoy Joel Hoekstra’s 13 new album even if Jeff Scott Soto isn’t doing main vocals…and lastly, probably blow through the Finger Eleven’s Greatest Hits album and of course The Alarm’s new one as well. Owl City is still making music? Wow, seems like it was only yesterday I heard the song “Fireflies” playing on MTV. Also, I think you’re really going to like Joel Hoekstra’s new album. Girish Pradhan, the band’s new vocalist, is incredible!

Is Girish on Joel Hoekstra’s new one? Chasing after Romero?

Yes, Girish is now the singer, no more Russell Allen (Or Soto – though he might still do backing vocals). And no Romero for me…yet.

Yes, he sings lead vocals on Joel’s new album.

Honestly, I was surprised by that one too. And I will give the Joel one a listen because of Girish. I need to go read your review.

Not to brag, but Joel retweeted my album review on Twitter! 🙂

I should be unboxing some Pat Metheny tonight, but not that one!
Nothing for me this week.

Nice. I hope the show goes well. I’ll be packing tonight so not sure I will be able to watch.

I know, and I wish you safe travels. If you see a bald, bearded ape-man in Glendora, feel free to punch him in the face.

Thanks for doing this every Friday Sir. May add Finger 11 to my Apple Library as when I saw them back a few years ago when Frank brought em to town they were quite good live…

You are welcome. I think a Finger Eleven Greatest Hits would be all i need for them.

I think I’m good this week too.
I’m always surprised when I see an actor trying their hand at music. If Damian Lewis is as good in music as he is in acting, maybe he would be worth checking out.
Mike, did you manage to get your hands on the Defiants album? I guess I waited too long on Amazon. It’s only available from other sellers, at the low price of $33 + shipping.

Wow lots of news there for me! Mule, Truckers, Pat. Cat didn’t sound too enticing, neither did Lewis, still one of my favourite actors. Great stuff!

I’ll probably give several a listen, I’ll also most likely pick up the live Motorhead at some point.
