It’s Friday!! It is time for new releases and this week there is a huge one coming out. Well, a huge one for my kids as Olivia Rodrigo’s new album is out. I will be listening to this because my kids will be playing this non-stop. Another big one is Tyler Childers and I am sure the kids will be listening to that as well. The ones I really want to hear are the new Andy Taylor and Puddle of Mudd. What do you want to hear this week? Let us know and let us know if we missed anything. The Olivia Rodrigo album seems much stronger than the debut to me – that one felt like she quickly put together an album after some unexpected hit singles.

Not sure if I’ll buy anything this week. I’ll probably check a handful of the country and metal ones out.

I bought something this week, but not a new release. The re-issued vinyl for Skid Row Slave to the Grind. Way cheaper than getting the RSD and the original release.

That is a badly needed reissue at a normal price.

Glorious Sons. I gotta be honest. I like those guys, but the Beaches absolutely kicked their asses with new singles this year. Nobody likes to take sides in a breakup, but the Beaches really are winning the singles competition. Blame Brett is everywhere.
New Beaches album Blame My Ex is out next Friday.

Good to know re: Beaches. I’ll need to read up the back story, as I don’t know what this Blame Brett is about.
Glorious Sons for me too.

Beaches singer Jo Miller was dating Brett Emmons, the singer from Glorious Sons. All was hunky dory…
And then Blane Brett came and I was like… uh oh!

Taylor for sure will get a check out. Thunder was a very good record years ago….

meh, this week. Tried to get into Glorious Sons but their too douchey for me. Saving my money for some dusty old LPs at the Sudbury record show on Sunday!

Nothing for me this week, but I kinda dig Vega’s “Battlelines” song. Thanks for doing this anyways, John!

Gospel bluegrass is not my thing, but something about that Steeldrivers record is really compelling. Also, not listed above, but the Marvelous 3 dropped their first new single in 24 years, with a new album on 10/13. I am very excited about that one. I had tickets to drive 600 miles for the concert, but fiscal prudence took control and I sold the tickets, as I really don’t want to drive 1200 miles RT for a 2-hour show. I’m getting too old for that crap 🙂 I did drive 6 hours RT last year for Butch Walker, that’s about my limit these days I think.

Oh boy, that Puddle of Mudd song is terrible, which makes me sad.
