  1. I have it on good authority that only one album comes out today: =1. I have pre-ordered the box set with DVD, live album, and T-shirt. As if I needed more T-shirts! I am confident that this album will live up to the levels set by albums such as Now What, InFinite, and Whoosh. I believe it will be more riffy and rocking but otherwise not a departure from recent years. The cool thing is that the live album is from 2022 and will feature Simon McBride on guitar – his first live album with Purple. I believe he was still a temp filling in for Steve Morse at the time of its recording. Also, for those keeping score at home, this is their fifth album with Bob Ezrin.

  2. I’ll tell you about hot. Here in Palm Springs, it’s been 110 degrees or hotter for 29 of the last 31 days, and has reached 120, 122 and 124, a new all-time record high! Our average high for July so far is 115.2, and the average low 85.3. I’m dying.
