Another fantastic Friday of new releases. There are so many albums coming out today that if you can’t find one you like, you are not looking hard enough. Alter Bridge’s new album is the one I am going to get immediately and crank it up on the way to work. The other ones I am interested in hearing are highlighted in Blue. I talk about a few them, but there are just so many I want to listen to this week. I hope I can get through them all.
Alter Bridge – The Last Hero – (Alter Bridge): Alter Bridge is back and in full force. They are one of the best rock bands out there and have the hardest working man in the music business as lead singer, Myles Kennedy. He has one of the best voices for rock as well. Mark Tremonti on guitars, Brian Marshall on Bass and Scott Philips on Drums…what else do you need.
Sum 41 – 13 Voices – (Hopeless Records): Sum 41 is back after 5 years since their last album. What I have heard so far seems to be worth the wait. I am ready to put this on and give it a listen.
Green Day – Revolution Radio – (Reprise Records): Another band gone for a few years and I am not sure what to expect from this one. I really hated their trio of albums they released in 2012. They were really subpar in my book. Hoping they bring some magic back with this one. I do like “Bang Bang” so maybe there is hope.
Shovels & Rope – Little Seeds – (New West Records): Not familiar with this band other than the appeared on a Needtobreathe song and that is enough for me to give them a listen when they release their new album.
OneRepublic – Oh My My – (Mosley Music / Interscope): OneRepublic is great at bringing us catchy pop tunes. Don’t expect anything new or earth shattering different. Hoping they produce a few great tracks to add to my collection.
Eric Johnson – EJ – (Mascot Label Group)
Joe Lynn Turner – The Sessions – (Deadline Music)
Colbie Caillat – The Malibu Sessions – (Plummy Lou Records)
Norah Jones – Day Breaks – (Blue Note)
Melissa Etheridge – MEmphis Rock and Soul – (Stax)

Dance Gavin Dance – Mothership – (Rise Records)-
The Devil Wears Prada – Transit Blues – (Rise Records)

Perfectly fine. The Alter Bridge was okay. I will need to listen to again before I pass judgement. I am enjoying the Green Day album which I am a little surprised by that. That is all I have heard so far. Maybe something next week will grab you.

Yes, it was awesome. I didn’t even try to give a comeback on that.

I listened to it in the car on the way home and it was great. Nice to see them back with some good stuff.

I am not ashamed to say that I really look forward to a new OneRepublic album (although apparently they are no longer making albums any more!). This one was a bit hit and miss for me though.
