Happy Friday. Welcome to the end of another long work week and hopefully something released today will fit your needs. Not much out this week, but a couple to look forward to for me. They are highlighted in Blue.
Alison Krauss – Windy City – (Hokker, Inc): Hard to believe that this is her first solo release in 18 years. Sadly it is only a covers album and not original material. I will take what I can get from this bluegrass/country superstar.
Ryan Adams – Prisoner – (PaxAmericana Recordings): Ryan hasn’t waited 18 years for his next solo release. He has only waited about 3 years. For him, this is his 16th studio album. That seems crazy, but he does put out a lot of albums as he averages about 1 album a year. I am sure it will be interesting as his usually are.
Amy MacDonald – Under Stars – (Melodramatic Records): Not overly familiar with her; however, I find the song “Dream On” to be quite nice so she might be worth a listen.
Golden Earring – Complete Studio Recordings – (Red Bullet): Not one I will run out and grab, but a great release nonetheless.
Son Volt – Notes of Blue – (Transmit Sound)
Charlie Wilson – In It To Win It – (RCA Records)
Fat Joe & Remy Ma – Plata O Plomo – (RNG / Empire)
Andre Rieu – Waltzing Forever – (Hip-O)

As always, thanks for the post, not a ton for me this week!

You are welcome. It is a bad week. Even the two I want to hear, I am not clamoring to listen.

So slim, but is good. I am finally getting around to listening to the CDS from the Crue box set.

Ryan Adams is prolific. It’s more surprising that it’s been so long between releases than how many he’s released total. 😃

He does put out a lot. My kids were so in to Taylor Swift, I had them listen to his cover of the 1989 album.

I generally despise covers, and I’d generally hate an entire album cover. But that one was really great. He’s kind of a jerk, from what I’ve heard and read, but he’s uber talented and fantastic live.

I am with you on the covers thing. I find a few I like, but most miss the mark. I hadn’t heard that about him, but not surprising.

For me, Alison Krauss is a winner. Ryan Adams will be one I get eventually. And I am curious about the Son Volt. Thanks for the heads-up on that one!

The Ryan Adams and Son Volt releases are on my list. Alison Krauss is one for listening to at some point, too.
