Happy Friday and thank goodness we have reached another weekend. We have a bunch more new releases for you this week, but for me there is only one I have bought and I am interested in this go ’round. I have marked it in Blue and it is the first one on the list. There are a ton of rock, metal, alternative and hopefully there is something that fits your musical taste. Tell me what you want to hear and/or buy and what I might have missed on the list as it is not all inclusive. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Whitesnake – The Blues Album (2020 Remix) – (Rhino Entertainment): The final Coverdale release in the Red, White & Blue Series. The Red was Love, White was Rock and Blue is well the Blues. These are all Whitesnake songs that have been remixed for these releases and this one will be those songs that were a little more blues tinged in either style or theme. And the vinyl is well, it is Blue…did you think it would be some other color.
Ricky Warwick – When Life was Hard & Fast – (Nuclear Blast) – Shows it is the 18th for a release date, but close enough
Icon for Hire – Amorphous – (Icon for Hire): Just off watching the video, I might try this one as I liked there sound.
Edie Brickell & New Bohemians – Hunter and the Dog Star – (Shuffle Records / Thirty Tigers)
Tindersticks – Distractions – (City Slang)
The Hold Steady – Open Door Policy – (Positive James Marketed / Thirty Tigers)
Jack McBannon – True Stories – (RodeoStar Records)
Wizard – Metal in My Head – (Massacre Records)
Tash Sultana – Terra Firma – (Lonely Lands Record / Mom+Pop)
Mogwai – As the Love Continues – (Temporary Residence LTD)
Wild Pink – A Billion Little Lights – (Royal Mountain Records)
Andra Day – The United States vs Billie Holiday (Soundtrack) – (Warner Records)
Lainey Wilson – Sayin’ Waht I’m Thinkin’ – (Broken Bow Records)
nothing, nowhere. – Trauma Factory – (Fueled by Ramen)
David Gray – Skellig – (Laugh A Minute Records)
Carly Pearce – 29 – (Big Machine Records)
My Hold Steady vinyl arrived a day early. Also on the prowl for Ricky Warwick’s album, The Pretty Reckless and Dry Cleanings New Long Leg.

Good on the THS album. My Whitesnake is not making it today. I’ll get on Monday/Tuesday. And what is Dry Cleanings Ne Long Leg…that is a killer band name.

I’m mistaken. New Long Leg isn’t out until Next week. I did a post on them recently. Scratchcard Lanyard

Edie? Where have you been? Wowzers!
I will check out that Snake album as there is some stuff on their I’m not familiar with as I had checked out on them after 1990 for a while…
Krokus has a Live at Wacken releases out today as well which I will check out..
As always thanks for this Snowman!

Edie did disappear for a long while. Glad she is back. The Snake album shipped after all and will be here Monday/Tuesday. And I can’t believe I didn’t see that Krokus on any of my sources. I would’ve included that one for sure if I’d known.

Man, I loved David Gray’s Flesh and Sell Sell Sell, cool to see he’s gotten so big and is still going strong. Good on him. Also neat to see Tindersticks still going!

I was surprised to see David Gray still going strong. Glad to see it. Don’t know Tindersticks though.

They’re awesome too, I remember them from way back in the day. Of course I just looked it up and even I was surprised they’ve been going since before their first record in 1993!

The Hold Steady’s a group that I like what I’ve heard so far – perhaps I should hear more!

That sounds like a good plan to me!!

whitesnake sounds interesting. makes me wonder why KISS hasn’t done a blues album. lol

Ha! The Snake album isn’t really a Blues album. It is a compilation of songs that have a blues tinge to it, but truly not fully a Blues album.

I will. It is nice to know so many people like checking this out each Friday. It is motivation to keep it going. (I had no plans of stopping though LOL!)

I’m addicted to your Friday lists now. Great way to keep up with new releases and making sure not to miss so many of them. What did we do before your lists? I follow my local record store’s release list too but it’s the European version and thus missing a lot of those that are on your list. So thank you!

I am glad you are addicted. This is one addiction that doesn’t need a 12 step program to get off it. And you are welcome!!

On today’s list I’m interested in Ricky Warwick, Whitesnake and maybe Edie too. Having a retro night and listening to Road House soundtrack at the moment.

Glad there are a few things for you to hear. And Road House, that is one I haven’t probably heard since the movie came out.

I just got into Whitesnake and feel like I need to check out more of their studio albums before I dive into their remixed stuff. Is it just me or does “Lay Down Your Love” sound similar to “Lay Your Hands On Me” by Bon Jovi?

You do need to check them out. I am a huge fan. And it might be you on the song comparisons, but I’d have to take another listen.
