The releases keep on coming and another solid week of new albums for you. Not as many as the prior weeks but still over 20 to choose from. My choices are highlighted in Blue as usual. What are you interested in listening to this week? Let me know in the comments and please add anything that I may have missed so everyone can know what else is out there. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend listening to music!!
Myles Kennedy – The Ides of March – (Napalm Records): Myles is probably the busiest man in the music business and somehow he still found time for a solo album. This is his second solo album and his first ‘Year of the Tiger” was absolutely brilliant. Of course, that makes this one have super high expectations. I have this ordered on a really cool green/white vinyl that was exclusive to his site so I can’t wait to see how it turned out. Plus it is autographed so that will make two albums of his I have autographed!!
Sunbomb – Evil and Divine – (Frontiers Records): I was just talking about Myles being the busiest man in the music industry…well, Michael Sweet might be tied in that category as he is constantly putting out new material. This time around Michael Sweet and Tracii Guns team up for their first album. The band is Sunbomb and is another in a long line of a pairings that Frontiers brings together. I am not a huge fan of this unless it turns in to a real band. We will see if this does, but I am sure this will be a one time thing, which is usually disappointing. I will hold judgement until I listen to it though.
Rodrigo y Gabriela – The Jazz E.P. – (Rubyworks / ATO Records): Sometimes, I don’t need to rock out. Sometimes some instrumental music with a world flair that leans a little towards the latin elements is all I want to hear and it doesn’t get much better than Rodrigo y Gabriela. These two artist are simply breathtaking when it comes to their playing. Here is hoping for more greatness.
The Black Keys – Delta Kream – (Nonesuch Records): I’ve always liked The Black Keys and I am always eager to hear what new they offer with each album. These guys have been around since 2002 and are on their 10th studio album already. Not many bands can keep that pace.
And that is it for me. Here is all the rest and that St. Vincent one might be the biggest release of the week for a lot of people.
St. Vincent – Daddy’s Home – (Loma Vista)
Charlie Benante & Friends – Silver Linings – (Megaforce Records)
Steve Miller – Live! Breaking Ground August 3 1977 (Live) – (Universal / Sailor Records)
Alan Jackson – Where Have You Gone – (EMI / UMG)
Seventh Crystal – Delirium – (Frontiers Records)
The Steel Woods – All of Your Stones – (Woods Music / Thirty Tigers)
Alkaline – Top Prize – (Autobomb Records)
Frost* – Day and Age – (Century Media)
Sons of Kamet – Black to the Future – (Impulse!)
Timmy Brown – Good Life – (Timmy Brown)
Anna Golden – Peace: The Album – (Motown Gospel)
Jorja Smith – Be Right Back – (FAMM)
Johnny Flynn & Robert McFarlane – Lost in the Cedar Wood – (Johnny Flynn)
Chris Potter – Sunrise Reprise – (Edition Records)
Shaed – High Dive – (Photo Finish Records)
Paul Weller – Fat Pop – (Polydor Records / Universal)
Kellylivinglarge – Heartbreak Kelly – (Living Large Music)
Morcheeba – Blackest Blue – (Skye & Ross Ltd)
Arrived home an hour ago with St. Vincent on vinyl. I have pre ordered The Black Keys new one but have played it on Spotify all day to get my fix. Two distinctly contrasting records. Loving both. Forget about this week being a good week for new releases. This first half of the year has been bloody awesome.

I’ll give you that. Lots of good stuff. May slows down for me after this week, but it picks back up in June.

I am sure. About to drop the needle on Myles Kennedy as it actually showed up last night on my doorstep.

NO!!! I had not. Man, I can’t afford two more box sets in June…I can’t keep up. Between Lep, Kiss, Mammoth and Record Store Day, i don’t think I can squeeze in, but I want to!!!

As soon as I saw Myles Kennedy, I jumped on it straight away and it was worth it.

Nothing absolutely essential for me this week – but always good to be informed!

The first three releases will get my attention. Massive fan of Rodrigo Y Gabriela so that’s first, then Myles and then Sweet.

I could listen to Myles Kennedy sing every day. New Black Keys excites me, but I find I like making mixes of their stuff better, I don’t tend to play whole albums. I do like their Crawling Kingsnake here, though. And Morcheeba! It pleases me they have a new record. They remind me of Montreal – it’s where I first heard them and that trip hop style was everywhere. Still love ’em.

The Myles one is great. Such a great rock voice. The Black Keys is a good on. Not a huge fan, but enjoyed it.

Black Keys are on my wishlist. Again, I’m waiting for a price drop. $40 is just too dang much.

I know! I think it is 2 LPS, but still! I’ll do it for something limited, but not mass produced.
