Welcome to another Friday New Releases. We have a bunch here for you this week, I mean a ton…over 50 coming your way. I am sure there will be something for everyone on this one. Have a few I want to hear and I will mark those in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear this week and what we may have missed as that does happen believe it or not. I’m not as perfect as you think I am…really!! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
And this one won’t have videos for all them as the time I’m writing, I’m still recuperating and still uncomfortable.
Skid Row – The Gang’s All Here – (earMusic / Edel Music & Entertainment): Skid Row is doing something they haven’t done since Sebastian Bach left the band and that is have people optimistically anticipating a new album. That is all because they now have Eric Gronwell (formerly of the band H.E.A.T.) as their lead singer. Hell, I want to hear it now as I love Eric. Can’t wait for this one.
Alter Bridge – Pawns & Kings – (Napalm Records): Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy return with another album. I will admit, I have been a little bored lately with their releases. Now, I love Tremonti releases and Myles solo stuff, but Alter Bridge has left me with a feeling somethings missing. Hopefully this will recapture some of the early magic.
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Return of the Dream Canteen – (Warner Records): RHCP have John Frusciante back in the band and this will now be their 2nd release this year. Crazy!! And a little exciting! Can’t wait to hear what they have to say this time around!!
Orianthi – Rock Candy – (Frontiers Records): And the last one I want to hear is Orianthi. She is another one that I have lost a little interest in, but always have high hopes when she has a new album. Ever since her stint with Richie Sambora, I have been underwhelmed. I feel he ruined her in some way…but that is just me. Here’s hoping for some magic.

I’m not digging it. A little boring and uninspiring for me. I was hoping for more I guess.

Suddenly hitting rush hour for me – 1975, Eno, and Rundgren are all interesting for me.

Relecutantly, Skid Row. But not a priority. It can wait. The shuffling of singers (3 since they fired Johnny, who I loved) is a huge turn off. I don’t care how good the new guy is. You can’t just have 3 singers since the last album without frustrating some of the fans, and I am one.

I have finished listening to it and it doesn’t convert me back. I like Erik, but not here it turns out.

He’s a great technical singer. But Skid Row had guys like Johnny and Baz who sang by the guts.

I listened to the “Time Bomb” track by Skid Row and it was just ok. The musicianship was good, though.

The Skid Row song went straight to my Spotify and I was quite impressed with Orianthi, Lacuna and We Came As Romans, plus Alterbridge sound promising.

Alter Bridge- Skid Row- Headstones are what I have on tap and I really don’t care about how many singers SR has had as long as its good tunes. Overall a decent Friday for new stuff …
Thanks for posting Johnny

Good for them. Glad they are having some success with Erik. I found the album a little dull, but need more time with it.
