We already to the close of the first month of 2023 and it has been somewhat lackluster at times with new releases, but this week we have over 40 new releases for you so there should be something for you. I don’t really have any I am running out and buying, but maybe I’ll stream the Steve Vai one, but outside of that probably not. The Dokken release would be great if it had some new or unreleased songs on it, otherwise I have those albums already. Let me know what you want to hear this week or if we missed any releases. All but one for me. But not going to re-buy for nothing new.

Listening to the Vai/Gash now, and it’s pretty good. Singer is kinda bland. This is the kind of music people have been wanting Steve to make for a while, but the singer is the stumbling block for me. I expect stellar vocals from a Vai singer – Devin, Dave, David — quite a high standard there.

Agreed. It was good, but not great and I didn’t make it all the way through either, but to be fair, I was heading to the park that morning.

Thanks for this Sir. Agree with you on Dokken. Nothing different if you own the originals. The only difference is BFTA is spread out over 2 albums not on a single LP like the original was..
As always thanks for this.

You are welcome! I have 3 of these already so I just need to pick up the debut and I’m good.

Girish and Crowne for me. Crowne has members from Dynazty, Europe and H.e.a.t.
And did you know that Girish is going to be in Lynch’s End Machine?

Oh! I will check that one out. And no I didn’t because I am not a of fan of George Lynch really so i don’t keep up with him.

I was about to give my usual “nothing to buy, stuff to check out” line when I noticed Bass Drum Of Death on the list. That’s a band I was into last decade but didn’t keep up with, I’ll probably snag that one in some form.

Cool. I thought the name was awesome so I put them on the list. Don’t know them at all.

I really like White Reaper, and it’s nice to see new music from Elle King and Dan Auerbach’s side project The Arcs.

Discovered a band that dropped a new one Friday called Signo Rojo and it was amazing. The And Oceans album rips. Will give the Vai album and the Housefires album listens as well.

Damn…the Archs sound like they came out in 1973 not 2023

I see your point about the Dokken Elektra albums set. Bonus material would make those albums worth the money.

Bonus material and I would be all over it.

I feel like some people will buy that set anyways (with or without bonus material).

They will which is why record companies will do them. Cheap and easy to repackage. More expensive to get new songs mastered and added.

What a waste of time that Dokken release is?

If you have the albums already, it definitely is. But if you don’t, then nice to grab them all at once.
