Friday New Releases – June 2, 2023

Get your wallets ready as this week is heating up as Summer is in full force and the releases are coming hard and heavy. This week there are quite a few I want to hear (not necessarily buy, stream yes). First up, Foo Fighter’s first album without Taylor Hawkins and I am looking forward to see what this tragedy does for the band. Then we have some great bands with Rival Sons, Buckcherry, Hollywood Vampires Live and even a deluxe box set of Black Sabbath’s Live Evil. Let me know what you are eager to hear this week or what we may have missed. As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend.

  1. Wow a ton of great music there! That Waters song was educational! I always think I should listen to more Cowboy Junkies. I am about to post something on Rufus’s mother! Glad you’re keeping up on this for the rest of us!

  2. Tenderloin by Rancid have been my ringtone on my phone for years…Will check out their latest album.

    What’s your ringtone?

  3. Expensive week. After spending the rent on Foo Fighters, Rival Sons and Noel G it’s alarming to learn Nathaniel & The Night Sweats and Protomartyr also have records out this week. At least Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper aren’t tempting me with new expensive versions of records I’ve owned for yea… Doh!

  4. Though I don’t buy many albums anymore – other than occasionally downloading one on Bandcamp from artists I follow and like in order to give them support – I’m interested in hearing the ones by Foo Fighters, The Revivalists and Rufus Wainwright. I’ve heard several songs on the one by RVG, and will give the rest a listen. Finally, Hollywood Vampires must have quite a following, as my 2019 concert review still gets new views every day, and now totals over 1,200.

  5. Foo Fighters new album is great. I didn’t see the new Tesla live album above. It’s fine, but if you are a Tesla fan there is nothing new there – no real reason to buy it, unless you are a completest about that sort of thing.

  6. Rival Sons and Buckcherry are on my radar.

A few years back Avenged Sevenfold would have been as well, however their releases since “Hail To The King” haven’t set the world alight for me.
