Friday New Releases – November 24, 2023

It is the after Thanksgiving in the States and it is known as Black Friday. Because of that, there are not many new releases unless you are being released on Record Store Day – Black Friday…that list is at the bottom of the regular album releases. And for the regular releases there is nothing for me, but for Black Friday Record Store Day I would like the Collective Soul and my daughter wants the Olivia Rodrigo one.   1. I know up here they have a RSD title of Sven Gali’s debut Under The Influence. If Dad and Kurtis have a copy of that kicking around I will grab it. He opens at 8 so were getting there for 8 as were not going to stand in line this time….Maybe Collective Soul I will grab as well…or I might just look at used stuff lol

        The idea that there could only be 5 copies of an album in my whole city…that’s friggin stupid. Music should available to anyone who wants to buy it. RSD is elitist BS. I feel like I should go on a rant.

            1. What I bought last year was more than enough for me. I don’t need the picture disc. A lot of the stuff on RSD tells you if it will be exclusive or not and most of the stuff nowadays is not exclusive, but “First” meaning it is coming out soon. I’m not looking for exclusive stuff, I’m just looking for stuff I don’t have. This year, all I wanted was the Collective Soul live album and I don’t care it is first or exclusive, it was just one I didn’t have.

                    3. I get it. But right now there is so much stuff being re-issued with box sets and anniversary editions, there is no way to keep up with all of it. I am missing out on so many things that I want, but just can’t do it.

                    4. I haven’t even looked at what Marillion have going on. I had a complete physical collection at one point but I see they have another live album coming. And I haven’t even digested the last two studio albums. Good on bands being ACTIVE but hard on some of the fans! LOL

                    14. This is unfortunate and sad to hear. Of course it’s not surprising. It’s hard to sell anything these days. Many Kiss fans are also overly critical of the band, to the point that it’s hard to call the extreme ones “fans” at all. Ah well. It would be nice to get more stuff on value next year. I think we will. I just hope it’s something we really have been wanting.

  3. Nothing for me this week, and that includes the RSD stuff. I don’t think my city is cool enough to have any of those albums anyway.

    I’m happy I have my Winger box from last week. Happy Thanksgiving to our neighbours to the south.

  5. Just scored All Time Low live album and Goo Goo Dolls first one. Although I think the first one is already included in the previous RSD box set. No matter, got them both.
