November 2023 Purchases – Vinyl & CDs

Welcome to monthly wrap-up of what 2 Loud 2 Old Music added to the collection and it was another good month. I will be honest, I don’t know if December is shaping up to be as good as this one and that is okay. I need a break. I will be in New York City and hope to hit a couple stores so there is still hope, but as far as what has already been ordered, not much. I know there is Christmas, but that list I gave my family was pretty light as I’d like a new laptop and that will drown out most everything else. For now, sit back and enjoy what we have this month.

The month started out with a sale at 2nd & Charles with a Buy 2 Get 2 Free sale on CDs. Well, you don’t have to tell me twice. My daughter and I hit up a different one then our normal haunt as I have picked that one clean and boy did that pay off. I picked up 20 CDs and 1 DVD as well. So technically, the first photo I bought, then the 2nd one was free.

And the DVD was for Robbie Williams’ TV concert show called “The Robbie Williams Show” and a review if forthcoming…

And then there was a show I recorded with Grant Arthur at Grant Rock’s Warehaus on Billy Idol’s Chrysalis years and there was one vinyl I discovered I didn’t have…well…after that show I found the best one (it comes with a free 12″ Single from the UK), so I bought it to add to the collection…It is The Best of Billy Idol…

And after that, there was a handful of purchases from my local record store, Noble Records. There was one album from the Hair Band era I picked up and that one was for Faster Pussycat’s ‘Wake Me When It’s Over’. Still with the hype stickers and shrink wrapped…yeah, I like that. And it was a gold stamped promo!! Even better.

Then it was some more Noble Exclusives and this month there were three of them and these are actually really good. I’m still diving in to them, but they are really cool. One is even some fuzz tone psych rock and has been kicking my ass for few days now. You get Gary Del Vecchio, Blue Max and Majic Ship…see if you can guess which one is the psych rock.

Then it was stuff I ordered on line. I guess I’ll start with a Night Ranger album as I finally picked up ‘Seven’ on CD and of course, it is the Japanese Edition…

And there was a little 4 CD Box Set that is all thanks to Tim’s Vinyl Confessions. I picked up The A&M Years from the band Y&T. I’m really digging it and now I wonder why I didn’t jump all over this when I was younger.

Then it was time for a lot of Re-Issues…first we have for the first time on vinyl, ‘Audiodog’ by Kiss’ former guitarist, Bruce Kulick. It also came with a 7″ Single with songs that aren’t on the album. Nice!!!

There is the 40th Anniversary Edition of Journey’s smash album ‘Frontiers’. 40 Years…CRAZY!!! It is the Target Exclusive on clear vinyl and it has a 7″ single included. It is currently sealed so nothing to show yet…

And the last re-issue was for Stone Temple Pilots stellar album ‘No. 4’. And yes, it was their fourth album. This was an exclusive release only to the Vinyl Me Please club. Thankfully, I didn’t have to join and I could buy the vinyl outright. It comes on a really cool black and clear vinyl. One of the prettiest vinyl I own, but I am saving it later in case I review it.

Then we had new releases this month as well. First is one that came out months ago, but finally had the vinyl release. It is for the final album by Candlebox called “The Long Goodbye”. What a great album to go out on…

Then I bought the Greatest Hits album for the band Bush. I didn’t go with vinyl for this one as I don’t have any in vinyl for them. Everything I have is on CD so why change it up now. It is a 2 CD set and spans their entire catalog. Good stuff…

And then the final new release I bought was for The Rolling Stones and their brand new album, ‘Hackney Diamonds’. And they had so many variants, I didn’t know which one to buy until I saw they were doing them for Major League Baseball teams and I had to have the Atlanta Braves. The team I grew up with. So, two of my favorite things together…I’ll take that one. And it comes on a beautiful white vinyl.

And we aren’t quite done…there is still they items I picked up for Record Store Day Black Friday. I was able to get the main thing I wanted which was the new Collective Soul live album as well as the CD for the Limp Bizkit live album. I don’t collect Limp’s vinyl so wasn’t about to start now.

And while standing in line, I did see a bootleg for Van Halen with nothing but demos called Zero Demos. It is Van Halen so it was a no brainer…

And that was it, so here are all the new items added to the collection in one shot…It was a good month…

Thanks for hanging around and we will see you in December with the next wrap up. Here’s hoping for another good one.

  1. Methods of Mayhem, bless you sir. Listen to Operation F You. OMG. That is the worst album I own.

Nice on Dedication by Lizzy – my entry point. Prepare to be LIZZIFIED!

Mostly a good haul, I would like the Kulick and the Zero demos, but you can keep the Limp Bizkit.

  2. That’s a great haul. The Limp & Methods of Mayhem don’t do it for me, but to each their own.

Somehow, I left November with 15 CDs and two boxes. I’m now curious about the Y&T box.

    Enjoy!
