Happy Friday! Not a lot for you this week, but for me two I’m really excited about. First is Iconic with the sophomore release ‘II’. This has some big hitters like Nathan James on vocals (Inglorious), Michael Sweet on guitar (Stryper) and the from Whitesnake we get Joel Hoekstra on guitar, Marco Mendoze on bass and Tommy Aldrige on drums. What a line up. Then it is the new Collective Soul album ‘Touch & Go’ which is a throwback to classic New Wave music like The Cars. This came out on Record Store Day and I didn’t get a copy so glad it is finally out in all formats. Also, Ariana Grande has a new album which a lot of people will be excited about. I’m not, but a lot of people will be I’m sure. LOL!! Have a great week and see you next time!!

It’s a weak week after you bought the new Charli XCX album last Friday, right?

I kinda like her, but kinda hate her too.

I get what you mean. I like her, she disrupts the status quo. I thought you hated her, which is why I made the joke. Brat was great, the fact that she got John Cale and Martin Scorsese on her new album cover is incredible, and David Cronenberg on the album itself; yeah she’s pretty cool for a modern pop star. A lot of her music before Brat was pretty transgressive too. She seems like a genuine artist in a sea of mediocrity.

I think what made me hate her was a song called Break the Rules – I thought the singing was awful. I may have that wrong.
