Welcome to Friday New Releases and we have a big week for you with almost 50 releases coming out. There is something for everyone. I’m interested in the Mammoth new one as well as the Bon Jovi album that is a reissue of his last album ‘Forever’ and this time with duets for all the songs. There are some interesting people on board. I am sure Demi Lovato will be big this week and cool to see a new one by Big Wreck. Lots to choose from. Friday New releases – May 5, 2023

Happy Friday and Happy Day After Star Wars Day. The Force is strong this week with new releases…yeah, that was pretty bad. But we do have a lot of new releases for you today and hopefully there is something for everyone. The only one I’m waiting on this week is Winger’s new one. Can’t wait for that to arrive today as I’m ready to crank that one. I am sure I’ll have to listen to Ed Sheeran’s new one as my kids tend to play him. Friday New Releases – May 4th

Happy Friday and May the 4th Be With You!!  Yes, I went there on Star Wars Day!!  There aren’t a ton of releases but a few I am excited about.  I will highlight those in Blue as usual.  Go through and let me know what you like or what I might have missed.  I hope you enjoy and have a great weekend.

  • 51JgZnr7AML._SS500  Shinedown – Attention Attention – (Atlantic Recording):  The main one I want to hear is the new Shinedown album.  The song “Devil” was freaking awesome and I love the whole idea of loose concept album.  It isn’t a full on concept album, but the songs will take you on a journey of a person who is starting in a very dark, ominous place and take you all the way through to the other side where this person is done battling his mind and his issues and coming out a changed person.  Check out “Devil” and then get this album.

  • 71idNtL4rWL._SX522_  Mat Kearney – CRAZYTALK – (Tomorrow Music):  Mat Kearney is one of the finer singer/songwriters out there and he never gets enough credit.  He has some great pop sensibilities, but takes risk and tries new things.  I don’t like to listen to his albums ahead of time, I like to be surprised and I hope this will bring many.

Music Challenge #5 – Galactic Empire’s ‘Galactic Empire’

For those that don’t know what the Music Challenge is I will tell you.  Go out and pick up an album or stream an album based solely off one of three categories…1) Album Cover, 2) Band Name or 3) Album Name.  Once you have listened to one, come tell me about it.

For my 5th one over the last year, I picked based on the band name and the album cover. The band name was Galactic Empire and the album cover was of space.  The whole thing had a Star Wars vibe to it, so naturally I was drawn to it.  What I didn’t know at the time was it was an album of John William’s Star Wars songs that were all done in a Heavy Metal format.  Interesting enough.

The album ‘Galactic Empire’ was released on February 3rd on Rise Records.
