IT IS FRIDAY!!!! There are a bunch of new releases today and should be something for everyone. There has been so much going on lately, that this new release Friday I am actually excited about. There is some Rock, Dance/Pop, Country and so much more. Let me know what peaks your interest. My interest are peaked on the ones highlighted in Blue.
On a different note, there are 3 releases out today from Frontiers Music Sri. My question to them is why in the hell would you release albums from 3 of your artists that are pretty much the same genre on the exact same day???? That perplexes me as people have limited funds to spend on music so by putting them out on the same day, you can’t really expect someone to buy all three or am I wrong. Plus, supporting all 3 albums with promotions at the same time seems ridiculous. Can you even give each artist the attention they deserve? I don’t think so. Alright, off my soap box.
Michael Sweet – One Sided War – (Rat Pak Records): Michael Sweet is back with a new solo album and this is the one release this week that will get played first. Michael has put out so much music over the last couple years and it has all been great whether it was the last couple Stryper Albums (which were heavy) or his release with George Lynch. His solo stuff has been both on the lighter side and the heavy side. I think I am hoping for an album more on the rock side this go ’round and if this song is any indication, I might just get what I want.
Britney Spears – Glory – (RCA): Britney’s releases have been more misses than hits lately. I will admit that she is one of my guilty pleasures so I always hope for the best. The first song “Make Me” isn’t too bad, so maybe there is hope for her.
Florida Georgia Line – Dig Your Roots – (Big Machine): I do a lot of complaining about country and how everyone is the same. These guys are no different, but I like them for some strange reason. I like the song “H.O.L.Y.” and I am looking forward to the rest.
Tesla – Mechanical Resonance Live – (Mailboat Records): My 2 favorite Tesla songs come from this album “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi”. The album came out 30 years ago and to celebrate the are releasing a Live version of the album. I will be checking this out for sure!!
Butch Walker – Stay Gold – (Dangerbird): It’s Butch Walker, that is all I need to know. The first song I heard was a song with Ashley Monroe and I love her. Can’t wait to hear the all the songs.
Unspoken – Follow Through – (Centricity Music): Unspoken is back with a new album. This Christian rock band has a great sound and I love me some good Christian music.
The Prophets of Rage – The Party’s Over E.P. – (Prophets of Rage)
De La Soul – and the Anonymous Nobody – (A.O.O., LLC)
Running Wild – Rapid Foray – (Steamhammer)
Barbra Streisand – Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway – (Columbia)
Ingrid Michaelson – It Doesn’t Have to Make Sense – (Cabin 24 Records)
King Company – One for the Road – (Frontiers Music Sri)
Cruzh – Cruzh – (Frontiers Music Sri)
Palace – Master of the Universe – (Frontiers Music Sri)
DGM – The Passage – (Frontiers Music Sri)
All Time Low – Straight to DVD II Past Present & Future – (Hopeless Records)
Celine Dion – Encore Un Soir – (Columbia)
Delain – Moonbathers – (Napalm Records)
Gaither Vocal Band – Better Together – (Gaither Music Group)
The Monkees – The Monkees 50 (3CD set) – (Rhino Records)
Charlie Daniels – Night Hawk – (CDC Records)
The Fabulous Thunderbirds – Strong Like That – (Severn Records)
I will definitely give the De La Soul a listen; I have heard some of the tracks from it already and it sounds pretty good. The Prophets Of Rage looks interesting (members of Public Enemy, Cypress Hill and Rage Against The Machine) too.

Agree on the De La Soul. I will give it a listen, but haven’t been real impressed with Prophets of Rage. I will give it another listen just to confirm first impressions.

I really liked Florida Georgia Line’s debut album but the followups haven’t quite been as good for me.
