I am so excited to see that Def Leppard announced their latest tour dates for their North American Tour. They will be going on the road with Poison and Tesla, an 80’s throwback show it appears. The only disappointing thing for me as that the three will not be coming to Charlotte because Def Leppard will be headlining the Carolina Rebellion Festival in May. I hope I get to go to the Rebellion to see them, but first I need to find someone willing to go with this old man.
Here are the dates below. See if they are coming to your town and if so, you have to go see them. Def Leppard still puts on one helluva show. For more info go to Def Leppard.com

I am certain 2/3 of these bands will be awesome. The third hasn’t toured in a while but could use a comeback…

I know which two you men. Yes, the third hopefully will do great. I don’t think I will see them though so won’t know.

I’ll root for Poison to have a good year. They were never quite as bad as they may have looked.

They were never great, but I did enjoy their earlier stuff. Anything they have done over the last 15 years, not so much.

I must tell you their covers album Poison’d is really good.

Really? That surprises me. Maybe I should listen to it again.

Well I liked most of it anyway. Some of it was old B-sides re-released.
Man I’m just glad Bret isn’t doing that stupid TV show anymore. It was unwatchable.

Let’s not go there. Horrible.

One night I turned it on. Five minutes and I was done.

I made it through one and then realized I will never get that time back.

Hahah! Well put. I will admit to enjoying Tommy Lee Goes to College even though it was all obviously staged. But that whole era of reality TV rock shows…no thanks.
Simmons Family Jewels was OK for two seasons and then got old.
Growing Up Twisted was good but not as good as Simmons.
I watched an episode of Jack and Ozzy’s new show, they went to Area 51. Pretty cool stuff.

I liked the Simmons show but never saw the others. I might like the Ozzy one though.

Can’t remember the title. Jack and Ozzy something. LOL. It’s about history but because Ozzy is involved, well, you know Ozzy! Beep this, beep that, can’t tell what he’s saying. Good stuff 🙂

Yes, he is pure comedy genius 😀

It was funny when my dad started watching Ozzy. He knew more about what Ozzy was up to than I did! And he watched a lot of car shows, and he’ll say things like “Have you heard of a guy named Brian Johnson from AC/DC? He was on my car show that I like.”

That is funny! My dad wouldn’t know Brian Johnson, but I think he would know Ozzy.

You’d be surprised how many of these guys are on regular shows that regular people watch. My dad knows Ted Nugent from hunting shows, and pretty much every rock star who has ever driven a race car. And LOTS of these guys have been on Pawn Stars. Phil Collen from Def Lep (back on topic!) was in a recent one, to verify that he did own one of the guitars up for sale. It was genuine.

I saw that Pawn Stars episode. Anything Lep is awesome. I enjoy Top Gear when the rock stars are on their. Alice Cooper didn’t do well in that episode if I remember correctly.

I’ve seen Def Leppard and Tesla, back in the late 80’s. It’d be a flashback moment. 😃

I saw that tour as well. It was great. I have seen Poison as well. I hope I catch a show.

It’s a 6-hour drive for me to Nassau Coliseum – might have to make the drive!

If you do, you are more dedicated than I am.

My 28-year-old son just sent me this schedule. His birthday is coming up, so I believe it’s a not-so-subtle hint he wants to go to the Chicago show. It’s only an hour away.
I took him to see Def Leppard when he was 13 and he loved it.

That is awesome. I think that would a trip worth taking! Thanks for sharing. My sister and I went when I was around 17 and we went again a couple years ago when I was 46. Good times!!

Montreal is closest Canadian show to us, and that’s 7.5 hours’ drive away from us. No Toronto? Weird. And the Montreal show doesn’t even have Poison or Tesla? Hm…

That is a haul. They aren’t coming to Charlotte since DL is coming for a huge rock festival they are headlong. I would prefer the concert with the three of them due to crowds at the festival. I don’t like crowds that large.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll go to Montreal anytime (I love that town).
As for crowds, I find as I get older they get less appealing. Instead of a general sense of merriment in people, I see a general sense of arrested development in people…

That is a good way to describe it. I find myself enjoying the really small venues for shows now than arenas or festivals.

This is hitting Indianapolis, a mere two hours from me. I’d love to see Tesla again. I saw them in 1995 on the ‘Bust A Nut’ tour and they were amazing. Def Leppard would be cool to see. Poison? Meh.
Would be a cool time machine sort of show.

I hope you get to go. I am sure it will be great. I have seen them all (Tesla & Def Leppard together years and years ago). I wish they would all be doing Charlotte together on this tour.
