It is the last Friday of the month and it has been a slow month. And it is another Friday where there isn’t a ton of releases, but there are at least a few I am interested in and those are highlighted in Blue. If you like Rock, Pop, Metal, Country, Christian, Electronic and even old time rock & roll, there is a little for everyone.
Alice Cooper – Paranormal – (EarMusic): The Man, The Myth, The Legend, Alice Cooper is back with his 27th or so album. How many artists can say that?? I have seen and heard a lot of buzz about this one and I am actually excited to get this one. I can’t wait to hear what is in store with this one.
Seventh Day Slumber – Found – (VSR): The Christian rock band from Texas is here to bring us more of their post-grunge, hard rock. I haven’t heard anything of this one yet (haven’t watched the video either) so waiting to be surprised when the full album is out. I am generally not disappointed by anything they have released over the last 12 years.
Rooney – El Cortez E.P. – (Rooney): Rooney is giving us a little E.P. to hold us over until their next full release. I have enjoyed this alternative/indie pop band so glad get some new music. They are a nice change of pace from my hard rock whenever I might be in the mood. (no video available on Youtube).

The Apple Music version I was listening to this morning had 18 tracks which included 6 live songs of old classics. And the album is pretty damn good so far.

I agree – it has been a really rubbish month for new music. Hopefully it’ll pick up again soon

The Cooper release is the one I’m most interested in… I’ve liked what I’ve heard so far.
Arcade Fire hasn’t really appealed to me, though I dare say I’ll check it out at some point. However, Isley Brothers and Santana? If that was a ‘from the vaults’ recording I’d be intrigued, but as far as I can gather it’s not… therefore I’m gonna step back and wince a little.

Never got into Arcade Fire myself either. And no interest in that Isley bro/Santana. Cooper one is good.

Yes he did! When I do my end of year list it is going to look like we are in the 70s/80s with all the great albums from the older artists. The young kids need to step it up.

Understandable. Not generally for me either. Although he was a first day stream and it was pretty darn good.
