Are you kidding me? How is September already. This year is now flying by. The only thing slowing it down is there are so many damn political ads on TV and the web that it is making me physically ill. Ughh!! At least it is Friday and there are new music releases to help me make it through the day. It is not a huge week, but for me a very solid week of releases. I have 2 I want to hear and they are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what interests you and what I may have missed that came out as I know there are always a bunch. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Stryper – Even The Devil Believes – (Frontiers Music): Michael Sweet is a machine. Between solo albums, Stryper albums, Sweet & Lynch, the man is non-stop. He and the boys from Stryper have been putting out some of their best music in their 4 decade long career and now going in to their 5th decade (I think that is right…80’s, 90’s. 00’s, 10’s and 20’s…yep that is right). I am really looking forward to cranking this bad boy up.
John 5 & the Creatures – Live Invasion – (60 Cycle Hum Records): John 5 is one of the premiere guitarist in the industry and is so sought after for his writing as well as his playing. When not by Rob Zombie’s side, he has his solo gig and they recorded their last live tour for the album ‘Invasion’ so expect some riff-tastick guitar playing and some super talented musicians.
The Rolling Stones – Goats Head Soup (2020 Deluxe Box Set) – (Promotone / Universal): It is The Rolling Stones with a massive box set with rarities and live music all to celebrate such a great album. What more could you want? Nothing!!
And then the rest…I hope you find something enjoyable…
Perfect Plan – Time for a Miracle – (Frontiers Music)
Zakk Sabbath – Vertigo – (Magnetic Eye)
Fame on Fire – Levels – (Hopeless Records)
Lauren Alaina – Getting Over Him E.P. – (Mercury Nashville / UMG)
Eddie Pence – The (Un) Special Comedy Special – (Comedy Dynamics)
Yep Stryper will definitely get a spin. I never got in to the Dead Dasies even when they had Jon Stevens singing, who is well known in Australia.
Zakk Sabbath has me interested to hear it.

I like them with Corabi, but with Hughes, I have to hear that Daisies one.

That Dead Daisies didn’t get released. Two days ago, Amazon Digital still showed as the 4th, today it is gone and it isn’t on Apple anymore either. I had to edit the post to remove.

There’s nothing I’ll be buying today. I would like to get into Stryper but I’d rather start with the old stuff.

The old stuff is great, but what they have been putting out over the last 10+ years has been stellar. Some of their best and the last album was so heavy. They might be better now then they were.

Nothing I need this week either – but I’d still prefer any of these to the advertisements!

How bad were the advertisements and what were they?

Oh you were mentioning the political ads – fortunately not many have made their way to Canada, but I’d much rather listen to any of these albums than watch any of those attack ads!

I bought John5 and The Stones. Yeah some new music kinda! The Stones set is pushing just under 3 hours. Amazing that they are the oldest band out there yet they are putting out the most product. They are releasing a Steel Wheels show later this month as well.
Bring it on I say!

The Stones are killing it and to think they have stuff that still hasn’t been released is absolutely INSANE!! The John5 is great I am just a little disappointed it wasn’t a longer show.

Yeah, for me it’s perfect I can’t handle to much guitar doodling! lol
Thats just me

The Zakk Sabbath thing is a turn-off. We’re gonna put all of this work into recreating Black Sabbath’s first album but only 500 people will get to own it. Geez, thanks.

Not a big fan of their stuff as I would rather hear Sabbath themselves.

Yeah, I don’t mind a good cover but you need to make it your own in my book. What is the point, otherwise?

The Stones are the ones that I am buying. No telling what they still have archived even from the Brian Jones days. I wish they would do what the Beatles did and do their version of an Anthology… I’m looking forward to Goats Head Soup.

Goat looks great. I will dive in to soon enough.
