Happy Friday!! And you made it another week, good for you. We have a ton of new releases for you this week. In fact, Frontiers Records thought you need some new albums so they are releasing a whopping total of at least 9 albums that I have listed. I have complained about them in the past as I don’t understand how they can release so many albums on the same day. No ones wallet can handle that. It doesn’t seem fair to me or the artists because people will have to choose which one they want to buy as there artists are some what the same type of genre. Now, I guess I am kidding myself because most people stream and not buy, but still the point has been made. No more rambling on and on. I only have one I’m interested in hearing this week and it is marked in Blue. There a couple my kids might be interested in so they are up after my choice and then there are at least 23 more to choose from so hopefully you will find something. Let me know what you want to hear and what I may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!
Rob Zombie – The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy – (Nuclear Blast): Rob Zombie is back and John 5 is still in tow on guitar. I will admit, I like Rob, but I am a huge fan of John 5 so that is the main reason I want to hear this is so I can see what new insane stuff Mr. 5 pulls out of his hat. Crank It MutherF###er!!
The ones my kids might be streaming…
Nick Jonas – Spaceman – (Island Records / UMG): One third of the famous boy/brother band the Jonas Brothers, Nick is back with a new solo album. After a successful turn with his brothers, he is ready to go back out on his own. I am sure this will be played in my house a little so not much I am going to be able to do about it (maybe I could shut off their internet access…that’s an idea!!)
Selena Gomez – Revelacion E.P. – (Interscope Records): Selena Gomez is bringing us her first ever Spanish Language album. Good on her. This is an E.P. so not a full album, but still cool to see her embrace her heritage. Good luck with this one young lady!!
And now for all the rest…I hope there is something for you…
Thunder – All The Right Noises – (BMG Rights Mgt)
Saga – Symmetry – (Earmusic)
Sunstorm – Afterlife – (Frontiers Records)
Ronnie Atkins – One Shot – (Frontiers Records) – Pretty Maids singer goes solo…cool!
ISSA – Queen of Broken Hearts – (Frontiers Records)
Chez Kane – Chez Kane – (Frontiers Records)
Orden Ogan – Final Days – (AFM Records)
The Crown – Royal Destroyer – (Metal Blade)
EyeHateGod – A History of Nomadic Behavior – (Century Media)
Gary Hughes – Decades – (Frontiers Records): A greatest hits 2 CD Collection
Gary Hughes – Waterside – (Frontiers Records)
Heart Healer – The Metal Opera by Magnus Karlsson – (Frontiers Records)
Secret Sphere – Lifeblood – (Frontiers Records)
Turbulence – Frontal – (Frontiers Records)
Enforced – Kill Grid – (Century Media)
The Rumjacks – Hestia – (Australian Broadcasting Corp)
Lake Street Dive – Obviously – (Nonesuch)
Joshua Bassett – Joshua Bassett E.P. – (Warner Records)
Valerie June – The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions For Dreamers – (Fantasy)
CeCe Winans – Believe For It – (Fair Trade Services)
The Paper Kites – Roses – (Nettwerk Music Group)
Charles Lloyd and the Marvels – Tone Poem (Blue Note Tone Poem Series) – (Blue Note)
Blackmore’s Night – Nature’s Light – (Minstrel Hall Music / Edel)
Joshua Bassett released an EP? Interesting! I haven’t listened to his music, but I know he used to date his co-star from High School Musical The Musical The Series (annoying title), then he cheated on her with Sabrina Carpenter (or something like that). Stuff like that makes me thankful I don’t pay much attention to pop music anymore, haha.

So that is who he is. My kids love Olivia and her song Drivers License…and it is a good song. They also like Sabrina and have met her and seen her in concert.

Oh yeah I still like Sabrina, I just don’t like to get into the drama that goes on in the pop music world.

That drama is so stupid, but my kids eat it up. It is sad.

I agree the drama is stupid, maybe they’ll break away from it eventually. Give your kids ten years!

I never thought I’d see Rob Zombie next to Nick Jonas…..

That would be a pretty wild concert billing. I wonder how Zombie fans would react to Nick as an opening act.

Loud and active distgust? Fear and horror? I don’t like Nick’s music and find the Jonas bros to be the worst kind of plastic-fantastic, but I don’t think even I would want to do that to him!

So, what I hear is you are not a fan!! Got it!! LOL!! I thought my kids would still be interested, but I don’t think they care anymore, so I am glad that phase has seemed to pass.

Im lucky, my teen boy is very into radiohead, Nirvana, and Joy Division. We therefore have a harmonious household. He still looks at my velvet underground collection with a vague sneer, we do not share the same love of Lou Reed. He does not seem to dig Patti either, but it could be worse! I am so glad you are free of the Jonas brothers!

My girls have their own taste, but they don’t mind when Kiss or Def Leppard come on and I’ve caught them enjoying some Zeppelin when I’ve played it…oh yeah, the love Queen. So it ain’t all bad.

Sounds like you are teaching them to love a wide variety of music! I’ve a secret soft spot for Queen myself, but try not to publicize it too much….

I won’t share that comment on facebook or anything and plus no one comes to this site so your secret is safe!!

Ah, I knew it…my secret is out. Yes..I too have strapped on my telecaster and pretended to be Brian May, minus the glorious hair…and not quite as nimble. Queen is just happy music, even when they are not being particularly happy, huh!

If a record label was releasing 9 albums on one day back in the 80s I would have had to start shoplifting back than to keep up. That’s crazy..
I will check out my homeboys Saga to see what they have been up to as I thought they had quit. Then again most acts say that and look what appears! lol

Saga has done like a million albums. I only know the album Worlds Apart which is freaking killer.

Your right about Saga and the amount of albums released

Man that’s a long list but nothing for me here. Hm. There’ll be another new GBV on April 30th, though!

That is a lot of music this week. I’ll just be giving Rob Zombie and Sage a stream to see if they are something I want.

I liked the new Zombie. Had some good, strange, bizarre stuff…as usual.

100% normal for Zombie.

Rob Zombie! I forgot about that! That’s the one for me. Will be checking that out laters!

It’s not bad. Typical Zombie and I don’t think we expect anything different.

Zombie is pretty good. And thanks for the videos. Not a spoon fan, but a good cover is a good cover.

Ronnie Romero is making a career out of trying to fill Joe Lynn Turner’s shoes.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yep, that is the rep he has now. And sorry, no one can fill those shoes.

this is how I feel too. Love Turner. I think Romero loses in the end. Feels a bit unclear what he’s aiming for. Cannot be 2nd rate Turner. That being said I really liked him in Rainbow and thought it was amazing that they finally toured and I got to see them too. Never saw the original Rainbow.

I never got to see any Rainbow, so glad you got see a line-up of them.

Joe’s underrated because he’s almost always the replacement guy, and not usually the first replacement guy either! I’m surprised he’s never been in Sabbath!
He is on the best Yngwie album though.

He might be the only singer that hasn’t been in Sabbath. It was like Sabbath and Rainbow swapped out singers all the time.

Him and Coverdale. Thank God in the latter case.

Neat idea with the Spanish EP – and Nick Jonas did a good job on SNL a couple weeks ago!

Nice to Selena branching out. As far as Nick, he’s okay. Not anything I’ll listen to by choice.

I’ve been listening to 300 vinyl records to get me through lockdown

That is cool. I wish my kids would come explore my collection more than they do. I keep telling them to come grab them any time they want and try them out. But not to much luck.

A lot of Frontiers but it’s getting to much same same for me.
Zombie … Mmm

Zombie…good. Frontiers…too much to even know. No way I can listen to all that especially since it is all the same. Quality has been slipping as well.

this video just hit airplay…I like soul music and see he’s having fun. Just wish there was a bit more power to the vocals.
