It is Friday the 13th!! I am hoping everyone has a safe, non-horror filled day. And as luck would have it, there is really nothing I am interested in getting this week. A few I might listen to but nothing I am in a rush to get to so Friday the 13th is already starting out to be a crappy day!! I am sure there is something you will find that you can wrap your ears around as there are a lot to go through. Let me know what you want to hear and what I may have missed as that does happen (a lot). My only choice is The Killers and marked in Blue below. Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
The Killers – Pressure Machine – (Island Records / UMG): They are wasting no time putting out a new album as they just had one last year but I am sure Covid killed it. The last one was really great so I am anxious to hear what is in store this time around. After 17 years, Mr. Flowers and co. still have their groove and so that is why this is first up today and really the only one I’m wanting to hear.
And all the rest…
Sheryl Crow – Live from the Ryman and More – (Big Machine Label Group)
Jennifer Hudson – RESPECT (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) – (MGM / Epic Records / Sony)
Jack Russell’s Great White – Great Zeppelin II: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin – (Deadline Music)
Dan + Shay – Good Things – (Warner Music Nashville)
Sepultura – Sepulquarta – (Nuclear Blast)
Caskets – Lost Souls – (Sharptone)
Afterlife – Part of Me – (Hopeless Records)
Luke Hemmings – When Facing the Things We Turn Away From – (Luke Hemmings / Sony Music)
Lesser Sparrow – Lesser Sparrow – (Lesser Sparrow Music)
Trash Boat – Don’t You Feel Amazing? – (Hopeless Records)
The Cold Stares – Heavy Shoes – (Mascot Label Group)
Ben Platt – Reverie – (Atlantic)
Quicksand – Distant Populations – (Epitath)
Nina Simone – Little Girl Blue (2021 Remaster) – (BMG Rights)
The Elovators – Castles – (Belly Full Records)
Jade – Different Kinds of Light – (Glassnote Music / AWAL)
Blacktop Mojo – Blacktop Mojo – (Sand Hill Records / Cuhmon Records)
Weathers – Pillows & Therapy – (Bitter Kids Records)
Jungle – Loving in Stereo – (Caiola Records / AWAL)
The Ugly Kings – Stranger, Stranger Times – (Napalm Records)
Slaughter to Prevail – Kostolom – (Sumerian Records)
Destruction – Live Attack – (Napalm Records)
Watchhouse – Watchhouse – (Tiptoe Tiger Music / Thirty Tiger)
Willie Nile – The Day the Earth Stood Still – (River House Records)
$uicideBoy$ – Long Term Effects – (G59 Records)
Still Woozy – If This Isn’t Nice, I Don’t Know What Is – (Still Woozy / Interscope Records)
blackbear – Misery Lake E.P. – (Beartrap LLC / Alamo Records)
Keith Wallen – This World or the Next – (KJW Publishing / BMG)
S-X – A Repeat Wouldn’t Go A Miss – (S-X / RBC Records / BMG)
Dude are you kidding? It’s Friday the 13th? I literally just walked about four miles through the middle of a storm to the gas station and back for a snack and the exercise. Lightning striking all around and above me. I didn’t get hit! I’m impervious!!!

I like the clerk there that works the night shift. She’s such a sweetie. And I fear not death in this Alaskan cold.

Jack Russell’s Led Zeppelin covers volume II? Maybe they’ll sell enough copies to get a kid’s cheese pizza at Pizza Hut. Toppings are extra.

The world needed a Jack Russell sequel.

That reminds me of when Bobcat Goldthwait was talking about Police Academy 4. He said they had to make a 4th one, there were so many unanswered questions from 2 and 3!
Speaking of Jack, I heard a guy on the Internet make a joke about Freddie Mercury’s solo career. He said it went over like a bag of dry leaves at a Great White concert.

That many in attendance hey.
And I agree with Bobcat. Too many loose ends and story gaps that needed to be closed with Police Academy 4 and then they realized they needed 5 and then 6 and I got off at 7.
Oh wait that was the last movie. Lol.

The first one was kinda funny, the only funny bits of 2 and 3 were the parts with Bobcat, and I’ve never seen any past the third. Don’t feel as though I’m missing out.

Oh man you did miss out. Unbelievable cinematography especially when Tuckleberry pulls a gun on a great white and commands it to leave the swimming area.
Maybe it was Jack Russells Great White.

That scene with the great white my brother was the body double for the actor. When you see the guy standing in the water pointing the gun and you can see his face. That was my brother.

Wow.
I need to rewatch it now.

Nothing this week which is a good thing as it allows me to catch up on the previous releases.

What? You tellin’ me you’re not getting the instant classic Jack Russell’s Great White Led Zeppelin Covers Vol. II?! I bet it’s at least one step better than Kidz Bop.

Anything is better than Kidz Bop!

I was waiting for it so hard, you wouldn’t know. Is it just me or would the album have had a better chance of it was called Jack Reachers Great White.

I think my album of farting could probably sell more copies than Jack Russel covering Led Zeppelin.

Is it a Frontiers release as that label would release anything so they could amass as much copyrights as possible, especially of artists covering old popular songs.
And some artists should just move on. Because he’s challenged for Google search.
As soon as I type Jack R I get autocomplete telling me of Jack Russell Terriers.

Poor guy just can’t catch a break. Gotta hurt when you’re replaced by Mitch Malloy!

A good week to get caught up on the backlog of music as there is not too much here.. Coming up though Maiden-Metallica and Ozzy so it will be ramping up…

It will be ramping up, but I don’t really have much coming that I am super excited about until October…so far.

You don’t want to buy a CD of Jack Russell and his lackeys butchering Led Zeppelin’s white washed versions of Willie Dixon tunes?

I somehow missed that the Killers were releasing a new album. Will definitely give that one a listen. I also like Jade Bird, Jungle and Weathers, so will check their albums out too.

The Killers one is okay. I am sure it needs a few more listens, but not high on my list to go back to it right now. Enjoy all your picks!

I didn’t know Ben Platt was an actual singer! I know he played a singer in ‘Pitch Perfect’ and ‘Pitch Perfect 2,’ but I didn’t know he had a music career outside of acting, very interesting! Also, Jennifer Hudson was perfect for the Aretha Franklin movie.

Ha! Yep. And I do want to see Aretha because I bet Jennifer nails it!!

I want to see it too because I never saw Jennifer act before, so it’ll be a new experience for me.

Nothing here I HAVE TO buy, but I think it’s cool Sepultura has a new record. And the Nina Simone entinces me, as expected.

I was glad to see Nina with I think is a remastered album. Glad someone thinks enough of her to do that after so many years.

Oh she’s definitely worthy of another go-around. That voice is otherworldly, at times. Love it love it love it!
