Friday New Releases – September 24, 2021

Believe it or not, we are to the last release date of September. Hard to believe another month has flown by and we have yet another week with a ton of releases, but just shy of the two previous weeks of 50 releases or more. This is getting insane. There is really only one I am dying to hear (I know, a little dramatic) and it is marked in Blue. A couple more that I will try (also marked in Blue). Let me know what albums you are crazy about and which ones that came out that I missed so everyone knows. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

  • 91iarAz7faS._SS500_  Tremonti – Marching in Time – (Napalm Records): Mark Tremonti is back with another monster album. I love his stuff with Creed, with Alter Bridge, but I really dig is metal band Tremonti. The man can play some serious guitar and I love the fact he takes the mic for this band. Always some great stuff. Hold on to your hat with this one as it will blow you away!!
  • 91HTD+SQlqS._SX522_  Angels & Airwaves – Lifeforms – (My Products LLC / Rise Records): This is one I am wanting to try out as I really loved their first two albums from a while back. Former Blink-182 member, Tom DeLonge’s band is a little all over the place with their style, but it is unique and at times interesting so want to see what new they brought with them this time around.
  • 818bxwe2yOL._AC_UY436_FMwebp_QL65_  Third Eye Blind – Our Bande Apart – (MRI): Honestly, didn’t know the band was still going, but apparently they are. I really loved their first two albums as well and I am curious to see if they can capture some of that magic again. Stephen Jenkins runs the show as it is just him and drummer Brad Hardgreaves still in the band. I am not sure what to expect, but it will get a spin.

And that is it for me, so here are all the rest and hopefully you find something great!!

  1. Paradox is the one on my must-have list. Several of the other metal albums are ones I want to at least check out. I also couldn’t help but notice Captain Kirk on the list. I’ve never had any of his stuff but what I’ve heard of it before has been interesting.

  2. As a fan of the tv shoe “Yellowstone,” I may give Taylor McCall a listen. And did anyone else check out William Shatner’s “Clouds of Guilt”? Lol. I actually made it through the whole thing. He sounds like he’s ready for spoken word night down at my local hip coffee house. There’s something really corny and cool all at the same time with the song. Vintage Shatner I guess.

  3. The releases from Angels & Airwaves and Third Eye Blind pique my curiosity. I have a huge backlog of new purchases to hear. I discovered a band from the 80s called FM. I managed to get my hands on a Desmond Child CD. I thought he only wrote songs for other bands. I also have the Metallica and a Whitesnake remaster to play. It’s a nice problem to have!

    1. A&A – Pretty good. 3EB – not so much. But only one listen each so far. FM – is the Canadian band or the British band? There are two. I used to have an old Desmond CD …it had its moments. Can’t wait for the Restless Heart Box Set from Whitesnake, that should be great. I’m lukewarm on Metallica so haven’t heard the big box set yet for them. So much stuff out and can’t keep up with it all…though I do try a little.

  4. I got two FM albums – Indiscreet and Tough it out. I believe they’re the UK act. Both albums are pretty good! I agree about there being so much stuff out there, but that’s the fun part for me. Lately, I find myself looking at acts I had no idea existed back in the day. Bands like Legs Diamond, Silent Rage, Strangeways. I got the Slide it in reissue from Whitesnake on Tuesday. My friend doesn’t like that particular rabbit hole, so he bought me some Shinedown CDs to drown them out!

I remember X Ambassadors being intense live. It was a fun show.

  5. The thing I don’t get about ‘Dear Evan Hansen,’ based on the trailers, why couldn’t he just tell Connor’s parents the truth that he wasn’t friends with Connor? It would’ve saved him a whole lot of trouble and confusion.

      1. It’s more aggressive than the others and I’m trying to jam along to it, but after a few listens their isn’t a song that really captures me as a song just yet although each song has some excellent guitar riffs than makes me want to learn it.

To compare the new song from Volbeat, “Shotgun Blues” is instantly memorable and I’ve learned it all. Lol.
