Happy Friday everyone!! Welcome to another round of new releases. And we have a lot for you whether you like country, jazz, indie, disco, r&b, metal and even good old rock & roll. As a result, there is something for everyone and I hope you find something. I have a few I want to hear and two I have on pre-order and can’t wait to get my hands on them. Those are marked in Blue. Let me know what you are interested in and what I may have missed. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Jeff Scott Soto – The Duets Collection, Vol. 1 – (Frontiers Records): One of my favorite lead singers and he is back with yet another release this year. This time around it is a compilation but not the normal type. This is his greatest hits, redone as duets with some of his favorite people. He is covering songs from his solo career and a ton of bands he has been in over the years. It should be awesome, but I can’t review it. Nope. Well, not until I get to it some time next year when I do the Jeff Scott Soto Series. Over 65 albums in this series and it will be epic!!
The Wild Feathers – Alvarado – (New West Records): Here is another favorite artist of mine. These guys are a little country, a little southern rock and a whole lot of awesome. This one is on order to complete my vinyl collection of the band but won’t be here until around the 29th of the month. I can’t wait to dive in to this one.
Eclipse – Wired – (Frontiers Records): Erik Mårtensson is the frontman for this band and he is an amazing singer. And this band kicks some major ass. The are hard rock, glam rock and melodic which I love all three. Erik is also a member of this great band called W.E.T. with none other than Mr. Jeff Scott Soto above so I am thrilled to get new albums from both guys. Yes, this will be a good day!!

It’s funny, the Eclipse’s video clip has the same name of a song by bullet. I’m waiting for november because checkered past by L.A. guns will be released. I do love these guys, since 2017 they’re doing a really great job and Tracii Guns and Phil lewis are working together. Steve riley’s LA guns is awesome too but if he can come back to the LA guns (i really like renegades.

I hate that their are two L.A. Guns. To me, it is Tracii and Phil and I ignore the other. Eclipse though, i would take them any day.

I don’t get why people would put out Christmas music before Halloween!

Every year Christmas gets earlier. Some stores were displaying their Christmas stuff in September.

That’s nuts!!!

I agree. Our policy at the Record Store was: no Christmas music in store until Dec 1.
You know I really am not feeling Christmas these days. Just… feels like another day now.

That’s a good policy and it makes sense.
I’m not even excited for Thanksgiving. Our governor is going nuts with the restrictions and how many people can be at get-togethers. We may not have our Thanksgiving get together at my grandma’s house for a second year in a row. For goodness sakes, my grandma ain’t getting any younger.

Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend. We are having dinner with only my grandma. They just issued an advisory that it would be OK to do so.
I’m really sorry you haven’t been able to see yours. I know how it feels.

Oh wow you guys celebrate Thanksgiving early! That’s awesome you’re celebrating with your grandma.
Oh I can still visit my grandma. We just can’t have our usual get-togethers during the pandemic. Or at least while our governor is being a jerk!

I dread Christmas…it is another year older for me. But now that the kids are older, it isn’t as thrilling as it used to be. But it is still family time.

Get a head start on the season. I have a post of Memes for Christmas Music and starting October 1st of EVERY year, that post gets a ton of hits and it will for 3 solid months. People love Christmas.

Yeah, people love Christmas! I’m not here to judge, but personally, I don’t want to hear “Jingle Bells” in October.

But Lana, it’s not Christmas music, it’s Crissmas music! It’s a totally different thing. Lol.

Trivium and Eclipse for me this week. Actually 90% Trivium and 10% Eclipse.
I heard a couple of the JSS duets and I’ll stay with the originals for now. Lol.

I knew Trivium was popular so I had them high in the list, but I’ve never heard them. You aren’t the only one interested in that one. I think I need to give it a spin.

I listened to it and it’s got too much of the screaming vocals for me, but I was always into Trivium because of the guitar playing. The album they released last year is a lot better.

I don’t like the screaming.

I’m not sure anything here floats my boat. It’s not a bad thing, as I always have more than enough new CDs to play.
I did notice the Frontiers record label in the listing. Their roster of talent gets better by the day, Frontiers is well represented in my CD collection – Sweet & Lynch, Tokyo Motor Fist, Sebastian Bach, Down N Outz…
Harem Scarem is easily my favourite band on the roster. I guess I’ll have to play Mood Swings after I listen to the Max the Axe CDs.
Speaking of Max, the Oktoberfest EP rocked. I’m about six tracks into Trillion Dollar Threats (the French in me almost said “treats”). I’m enjoying the guitar solos. Mike, I can see any of these playing in a CD player, as one is doing 140km/h down highway 401, while passing an OPP cruiser.

y’a aussi LA guns sur frontiers, mais eux c’est le 22 novembre je crois

Frontiers is a solid label. I have found some great bands. My biggest complaint with them is they release all their albums in a month on the same day and for most people, they can’t afford to buy them all. I wish they would put one or two out a week to help spread the wealth around. I have the Harem box set and it is great. I’m glad you liked the Max E.P.

For me, there’s some nice hidden gems in here that I haven’t really heard of before. So although there are artists in here I don’t typically listen to, you’ve set me on a path where I may begin to listen them moving forward. So, thanks my friend!

Then my work here is done. The goal is to make sure people know what is out there and hopes you find something you like or even something new you’d never tried before. Awesome to hear, thanks for letting me know.
