Another week of over 40 albums being released which means there is something for everyone. Heck, if you make it down to the end there is even a Christmas album by Kelly Clarkson. Yes, it is time for Christmas albums to start coming out. I know, too soon!! I have a handful I would really like to hear and one I’d really like to buy, but KACHING!!! My choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear and let us know what I may have missed so everyone can see what they might be missing. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
The Alarm – History Repeating: 1981-2021 – (Twenty First Century Recording Co): A Double CD of the band’s 40 year career!! Man, I am feeling old as I have been listening since the beginning. There are are a several unreleased songs as well as all their hits. I believe there are 44 tracks and definitely worth grabbing!!
Judas Priest – Reflections: 50 Heavy Metal Years of Music Box Set: I would love to get the big deluxe box set but it is well over $400 and I am sure worth every penny. I might need to sell some things or take out a second mortgage for this one. After just finishing the Judas Priest Review Series on the site, this would be a great way to top it off!! With a giant cherry on top!! Or you can get the one disc greatest hits album if that floats your boat. Either works.
These next few are some I would love to try out, but probably won’t buy…
Tom Morello – The Atlas Underground Fire – (Comandante LLC / Mom+Pop)
Zac Brown Band – Comeback – (Home Grown Music / Warner Music)
The Georgie Thunderbolts – Can We Get a Witness – (Mascot Label Group)
And here are all the rest and there are some big ones in here…

No, you don’t have to like them if it is not your thing. I used to not, but they have grown on me and I dig them now.

Thank you for making these new releases posts every week! I don’t see anything for me here, but I remember how shook I was from Mac Miller’s death back in 2018 because I was obsessed with his and Ariana Grande’s song “The Way.”

You are welcome. I am happy to do them. Thanks for always checking it out.

That Priest box looks stellar. Hopefully over time they will release the live albums that are included in it separately. Also I will check out the Let It Be deluxe. I see Ozzy has on Apple a 20th Anniversary edition of Down To Earth out. Why ? lol

That Priest one does. I’m listening to Reflections now. And I didn’t realize that about Ozzy. I don’t even remember that album, LOL!

Really want the Priest set but the price is ridiculous. If someone likes Priest enough to spend £350 on a box set, surely they have most of the stuff already?!

It is insane. I want it for the live albums myself especially to have one from my hometown of Atlanta!

I’d love those live albums and the Live & Rare disc looks awesome too. I’m hoping that they’ll get standalone releases or a cheaper box set at some point. If this one comes down in price I’d maybe bite so hopefully no one buys it! That happened with the GnR Appetite one, I held off for ages and it eventually got a huge discount. Fingers crossed. I pre-ordered the Destroyer one though! Although that’s a bit of a rip-off too if I’m honest.

You got that big box set for GNR or the Super Deluxe? There was one that was this massive fat box that was really pricey. I ended up doing the same on the Super Deluxe when the price got down low enough, I jumped.
I pre-ordered the Destroyer as well and yes, over-priced but they know I’m a sucker and will buy anything especially if it has stuff I don’t have.

Yeah I’m more of a sucker for KISS. Was still a bit irked at the price but at least I can justify that. With £350 I start thinking… what else I could I buy for that?
I think it was the Super Deluxe. Not the big locked and loaded or whatever it was! It was the next one down… the black embossed cover.

Ok, that was the one I got too.

I meant to ask you… are any of those Destroyer demos in The Simmons Vault or are they all mostly new to you? (I think there are some on the KISS box and KISS 40)
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, the titles are the same on a few of those, but they sure as hell better be a different mix or version. The Vault would have 3 versions of one song some times so hopefully it is something like that. I’ll be a little pissed otherwise.

Got ya. I’ve got a lot of KISS stuff but I’m not so hot on the details of all these demos, unreleased stuff, mixes and whatnot. I’ll read your review of the Destroyer set once you get it and find out what’s what!

It’s a week where I don’t feel like I have to have any one thing but I’ll probably check out at least half of the list out of interest/curiosity. The Melvins album is one I might actually pick up a physical copy of.
That Priest box set would be awesome but I couldn’t justify the price. It’s loaded with bonus material but I have the same box you do and I just can’t rationalize the purchase of the super expensive box.

I’m with you, nothing to run out and buy, I will probably end up getting the Alarm and the Priest single disc, but that box set is crazy $$. If I didn’t have the box set I have, I would’ve seriously thought about it.

This is not a bad week for new releases. Melvins, Seether, though I think that one is another compilation. I’m not sure my wallet wants any new releases this week. My wallet is still pissed off at me buying a dozen discs this month.
Christmas albums, yikes. I haven’t been to a store in a few days. I suspect all of the tacky decorations are already up in most stores. Uggh………I like Christmas, don’t get me wrong. I also understand the stores wanting to make up for lost sales. It’s just too………early! I think I’ll stick to listening to Steel Panther’s Christmas music instead. Sexy Santa! lol
Perhaps it’s time to give Tom Morello’s stuff a listen.

There is a lot there!! And I’m with you on the Christmas albums…Yikes!! I haven’t heard the Tom album yet, hopefully I’ll get to it today.

John, you’ve set up a Christmas showdown today between Kelly and Norah! Don’t you feel the need to compare and contrast the two albums and give us a winner? Lol.
On the non-Christmas side of things, I’m always interested in what Jason Isbell is doing, but after I pulled up his “Georgia Blue” album on Spotify I just realized what he’s been doing is destroying original songs with an album of collaborations and cover songs. He ruins two songs with Britney Spears singing on them (“It’s a Man’s World” and “Midnight Train to Georgia”), and then he goes on to ruin a couple of R.E.M. songs, and that’s about all I could take.
As always, thanks for the weekly updates!

I’m going with a big fat no on that Comparison. Not a fan of Christmas albums in general. And I am not a huge Isbell fan so don’t feel like I’m missing anything there especially after what you said!! And you are welcome

Where would we without you? Got me on Alarm, I’m a fan and did not know about this release.
There’s just so many releases this week that I would love to have that it’s ridiculous.
the alarm, priest, let it be, marr, alcatrazz, seether, coldplay….

Curious about Finneas. Is this his solo debut?

That Tom Morello work is looking extra tasty, especially those affiliations with Bring Me The Horizon, at the moment. Very exciting. I love the work that you put into these music releases. Thank you, my friend.

More stuff here this week that makes me curious. I might go for the Hits of the Priest set, that’d probably be enough for me. Definitely the Tom Morello needs to be heard. I wonder if the Santana is another duets album (I’ll have to look). Cool that the Melvins coughed up a new one.A posthumous Mac Miller is cool. Folks will get excited about Johnny Marr. But I’m ainly excited about new Jason Isbell. That’s the one.
