Happy Friday. And boy, do we have a ton of releases for you this week. We are bringing you 53 new albums for you to checkout. I know, you will never get to them all as there is no way, so find the ones you want the most and check them out. I have a couple I am going to listen to for sure and a several I will give a spin when I can. Those are all marked in Blue. Now let me know what you want to hear and what I may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Sixx A.M. – Hits – (Better Noise Records): Nikki Sixx and the boys are back with a greatest hits package and thankfully we will 6 new tracks and/or new mixes. I really have enjoyed there albums so this will add to the collection and I am sure it sounds better than Cure probably will…oooh…sorry that was harsh.
Duran Duran – Future Past – (Tape Modern / BMG): This is the band’s15th studio album and will feature collaborations with Giorgio Moroder, Mark Ronson, Lykke Li. These guys have been going strong for 40 years and I can say I am interested in to what they have to bring us now. Their releases have been hit or miss with me, but there are always a bunch of tracks I do like so ready to give it a try every time they release a new one.

for me, this friday is Sixx:A.M. and L.A. guns, they have released a new single, I’ve listened the song and it’s my favorite after let you down, the new album “checkered past” will be better than “the devil you know”.
I’m also waiting for hardcore superstar and kissin’dynamite (I talk about the new album every friday lol)

I don’t have either on my schedules, I need to look them up to make sure to add to the New Release Page. Listening to Duran Duran now and actually loving it!!!

Cradle Of Filth for me. They’re last couple of albums were brilliant and I expect this one will be just as good!

I always look forward to reading your Friday lists!!
This week my choices would be Stones, Sixx:am, Dream Theater, Armored Saint live album, Duran Duran and Biffy Clyro. Lots…

That makes me happy! I am glad to provide the service! The DD one is really good or maybe I’m just in a good mood!!

Sixx AM will get a listen and an add to the collection. I just finished Dream Theaters album and it’s ordinary. Will also give Starset a listen.

I ordered the Sixx A.M. but vinyl isn’t due out until December I think. I’m listening to Duran Duran now and I have to admit it is really good. Sixx is up next!! I might give Starset a listen depending on how the day goes. Not a DT fan.

Lol love that Cure jab, that made my day. A Hits would be all I needed from the, if I needed it, probably. Biffy Clyro keeps getting talked up, I need to delve. Didn’t Lana Del Ray just have a new album ten minutes ago, now here’s another one? I love more b-sides from Cave. A live Coltrane pleases me. Cool that Dream Theater has new stuff too – brace yourself, listening takes effort! Lol
And of course I will need to get some version of the Stones.

A whole bunch to get through, but can’t afford to buy them all unless I could get them for $1 a piece!! I have Tattoo You already, but debating that one myself.

It’ll be a while before they’re $1 lol. But I totally get it. It’s another of those “need a whole lifetime just to hear all the tunes” situation.

was Elton on the list too?
Definitely will check that one out. Guest list looks interesting, Vedder, Stevie Nicks, Stevie Wonder, Gorillaz, Miley..that’s a lot. Just listened to E-ticket, the one done with Vedder. Sounds good.

Elton is there!! It does have some interesting collaborations so maybe I will give it a spin down the road.

Ha!! I have not been in Elton for years. Nothing against him, I just haven’t connected to anything he’s done in years.

more on the topic. Just read from the new Mojo magazine Richard Thompson’s comment about reclining the invitation to McCartney’s 26th birthday party ‘cos to him Beatles was a “pop” band. Funny.

I’ll hear the UDO whether I want to or not, my friend I hang out with sometimes is a massive fan. His stuff is usually fine so not a big deal. I’ll check out the Cradle of Filth sometime and there’s some other stuff on here I haven’t heard before that I’ll probably give a spin to sometime.

Wow, you weren’t kidding about the number of releases!
I thought about giving Nikki Sixx more money. I don’t know if Sixx AM has enough material for a best of. Heroin Diaries is excellent. The other albums are good at times, but haven’t been able to retain my interest. Perhaps I’m biased, because I liked Heroin Diaries so much, and I hold the others to the same standard. I probably would have bought “Hits” if the new songs were an EP instead.
I’m pleasantly surprised that Duran Duran are still making music. They’re one of my favourite pop groups from that era.
There are so many blasts from the past in there. Debbie Gibson? I wasn’t into her, but just about every girl in school was. Olivia Newton-John? I know my father had that album.
My release day came early this week. I got five early Whitesnake CDs (pre-MTV era), a T.Rex compilation, The Vaccines’ Back in Love City, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey soundtrack, a Nightwish compilation, and the Damn Truth’s Now or Nowhere. That Damn Truth CD will make it on my best of 2021 list easily. Forgive the pun, but the damn thing rocks! I’m now convinced that early Whitesnake is better than rerecorded Whitesnake.

I’ve really liked all Sixx A.M.’s albums. Really great stuff. The Duran Duran is really good and yeah, a lot of past artists with deluxe editions which is nice to see. Wow, your haul sounds pretty great!!! I like all Whitesnake, but the earlier Blues sound is way better!! Agreed.

You know what, good for Nikki Sixx for releasing new material since Crüe isn’t really doing anything at the moment.

I wish we’d get a whole album, but don’t look like we will. I’ll have to settle for the new songs on this HIts album.
