Can you believe May is almost over? Another month that has blown by. This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend where we remember all those men and women lost in the many wars we have been in over the many years of this country. I think people think this weekend is vacation and grilling only…a reason to drink and party…but not at all. Take a moment to remember why you can do all those things and what was sacrificed for it to happen. Now, back to the reason for the post. We have a ton of releases for you today with over 40 albums. There is only one I’m a really excited about and another I am intrigued about it. They are marked in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear and what we may have missed! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!
Def Leppard – Diamond Star Halos – (Bludgeon Riffola Limited / Mercury Records): There have been no new Def Leppard studio albums since I started this blog which is way way too long. I am excited about this one, but truly aren’t expecting a lot if I’m being honest. That didn’t stop me from ordering it…on vinyl exclusive from Target…on cassette and two different Japanese Edition CDs. I think that is every format. Yes, I have a problem…deal with it!!
Mark Tremonti – Mark Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra – (JMM / Slow Down Sounds): The guitarist of Creed, Alter Bridge and lead singer of Tremonti goes soft with Frank Sinatra…or does he? I don’t know as I haven’t heard it yet as I want to take it all in at once. Here’s to hoping it is something cool.

why don’t you have high expectations 4 Def Leppard, I’m sure that it’ll be a really good album. Have you listened to the singles ? They are awesome. But it’s true that this will be their 12th real album, maybe they could’ve lost their talent for songwriting but I don’t think so.

The rock side of Lep is done so expecting more of an X type album. They are more Adult Oriented Rock now. Which isn’t a bad thing, just not the same.

I will stream and try before I buy the Leppard one. The first three tracks I heard were good so here’e hoping. Good to see you supporting there pension fund by purchasing it on all formats. lol I will add at least they are plugging something new for this tour unlike the other band that is with them…
MSG I will check out as well.

Yes, they can retire nicely now.

Nothing shipped yet. So disappointed. What is the point of pre-ordering?

Only 3 have shipped but none will be here until Monday/Tuesday most likely. I’ve listened to it already. X 2.0.

I will get the Wilco, of course. I’m curious about the Pistols but I’ll try it before I buy it.

Try before you buy is the best thing about streaming.

Yeah I do that a lot, though most stuff I still know what I’m likely to buy anyway (like Wilco lol). But when it comes to the Pistols, there’s really only one album I need, and this one looks cool but feels like I might only listen to it it once or twice so I’ll check it out to confirm…

Probably true on the Pistols.

It’s a stone cold classic. An all-timer, to me!

I’ll get my Stars fix. When I want pop, I reach for one of their albums. Good Montreal band.
I’ll likely get Def Leppard too, just because.
Happy Friday everyone.

Happy Friday! Spinning Lep right now…needs a lot more listens before I can rule judgment.

Fairly quiet week, I’ll probably check out Def Leppard, MSG and Liam Gallagher at some point.

After one listen, the new Def Leppard album is really poppy with too many ballads (in my opinion), but I’ll keep trying to like it because it’s their first studio album released since I became a fan of theirs. Also, I hate Sav’s hair slicked back; it makes him look older. Sav is the hot one of the group and his new hairdo does not help him one bit!

Now that I have the CDs, I will spend some time with it. Wasn’t overly impressed the first listen I streamed.

Yeah, I saw your instagram post and CDs look nice! I got a CD/DVD player for my laptop and got some CDs as well (including ‘Diamond Star Halos’). So, I’m going to give it more listens and gather my thoughts on it before jumping to conclusions.

Had no idea about the Mark Tremonti one. It came from left field.
Def Lep will get a listen. But they’ve moved to far away of what I think Lep should be. So like you I’m not expecting much but I could be surprised

I hadn’t heard the Mark one yet. He did it for charity so that part is good at least.
