We are in the middle of the month and still a ton of releases. This week we have around 50 releases for your viewing pleasure today. I actually have a bunch I want to hear (before I buy) and one that is already on order and will be here today. Those are first up and marked in Blue. Let me know what you are digging this week and what we may have missed as that does happen. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend.
Lit – Tastes Like Gold – (Round Hill Records): It has been 5 years since their last album and it was more tinged towards country than the pop punk they usually do. This time they are going back to their original sound…thank goodness. Here’s hoping for a return to form.
Iconic – Second Skin – (Frontiers Records): Another Frontiers Supergroup which is actually getting kind of ridiculous…but is one is featuring Nathan James (Inglorious), Michael Sweet (Stryper), Joel Hoesktra (Whitesnake), Marco Mendoza (ex-Journey, Whitesnake), Tommy Aldridge (Whitesnake). It was co-produced by Michael Sweet and Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Revolution Saints). Hard to argue with a line-up like that. And the fact Michael Sweet isn’t even singing is a huge surprise. Nathan is a beast on vocals so this should be good.
Collective Soul – Disciplined Breakdown (Expanded Edition) – (Craft Recordings / Concord): This 25th Anniversary expanded edition of the release features newly remastered audio, as well as the entire set from their show at Park West, Chicago in 1997, and two bonus tracks. Yes, please!! It is on order and should be here today!!
Whitesnake – Greatest Hits (Revisited, Remixed, Remastered 2022) – (Rhino Records) – CD & Vinyl: David Coverdale has been going a little remix crazy of late and if I’m being honest, I’m a little tired of it. If it is for a box set great, but this isn’t a box set. I actually haven’t bought this yet and not sure if I will.
Jorn – Over the Horizon Radar – (Frontiers Records): One of the great voices in rock, but I will admit his last few albums have me left me missing the days of old. But he has earned my respect and I will always listen to his new stuff because I will get a song or two I really like. Here’s hoping for a whole album of stuff this time around.
Vypera – Eat Your Heart Out – (Frontiers Records): Here is some great melodic rock in a pure 80’s rock style and that is good enough for me. The two songs I’ve heard so far are pretty good, so this will get a spin.
Callum Scott – Bridges – (Capitol Records / UMG): Now let’s go in a totally different direction. Callum is a sappy pop singer and I have a soft spot for those type of singers…well a few of them any way and his voice is so good that I don’t mind the sappy pop songs.
And then there is all the rest…some good ones too!!

I’ll probably pick up the Pete Yorn disc.
Iconic sounds interesting. You mentioned Alessandro Del Vecchio as a producer. I recently picked up the latest from his band’s The Big Deal. It’s good!
As for Coverdale, I completely agree, he’s gone crazy with everything. I didn’t help, as I bought most of the reissues. I guess I’m just as crazy.

It was inevitable! Yeah I just bought a wee amp, so it’s a good thing there wasn’t much out there for me. I also hadn’t realized the recent Stones was a 3CD so I am saving lol.

Another pile this week – Iconic, Hank Jr, IV and the Strange Band, Oni, and I’ll probably see what’s up with the Jorn album. But like you said, he’s been kind of lost at sea for awhile.

It’s so funny because I was watching an episode of ‘Sea of Tranquility’ yesterday, where Pete and the UK connection talked about their favorite and least favorite Whitesnake albums.

I need to watch that show more.

Same! I slacked off a little bit during the first couple of months of my program. But I’m slowly getting back into the show. Pete Pardo is awesome!
