The Distortion Den: Motley Crue albums of the 80’s

I had the pleasure of joining Deke to talk about the Motley Crue albums of the 80’s and our favorite memories of the band during that time. And along for the ride was the famous TeeBone!! It was a lot of fun as we walked through Too Fast For Love, Shout at the Devil, Theater of Pain, Girls Girls Girls and Dr. Feelgood. What tours did we catch? What songs did we like? Or not like? What albums were good? Which ones weren’t? We answer all that and more.

Go check it out as it is live now on YouTube. Don’t forget to like and Subscribe to The Distortion Den!!

The Distortion Den Presents: Best Rock Debut Albums

For this episode, Deke invited me to join him as we decided to focus on a Top 10 ranking of what some of our favourite albums would be. I had a couple of surprises with his picks which was really cool according to Deke (a couple weren’t really rock) whereas Deke feels no one will be surprised by his picks. The only rule was that they had to be albums in our collections. Who knows maybe down the road we’ll do another episode. (as there are many fantastic debut records still out there)

Thanks for watching…and make sure to Subscribe to Distortion Den while you are it! Always great content!!

The Distortion Den: Retro Rewind Eps. 1 – Aerosmith Vs KISS (Battle of 1975)

I was honored to be asked for the debut episode of The Distortion Den’s Retro Rewind. Thanks Deke for inviting me along for the ride. We talk Aerosmith’s “Toys in the Attic” vs Kiss’ “Dressed to Kill” both albums now only 50 years young!! See who wins.

This is Deke’s write-up on the show…

Welcome to the first episode of Retro Rewind. The concept is rather simple, pick two albums from the same year and put them in head to head vinyl match. Every episode we will score each album out of 10. Scoring will be based on front cover, back cover, the compositions, lyrics, musicianship, productions etc. Basically geeking out over some classic albums in our collection and then rating them and declaring one a winner at the end.

John T Snow was one of the first guys I reached out to and we decided that Episode 1 should be between two albums that are turning 50 years young this year.Aerosmith with “Toys In The Attic” Vs. KISS with “Dressed To Kill”

Thanks again Deke!!!

Scotch on the Rocks: Creatures of the Night Super Deluxe Edition Discussion

I had the absolute pleasure of joining Superdekes on his show “Scotch on the Rocks” as we discussed the box set from Kiss for Creatures of the Night…see what Deke has to say about it below, then go watch.

From Scotch on the Rocks:

It’s always a great chat when the Snowman hops on “Scotch On The Rocks” and this time was no different!

We talked of course about KISS and the Creatures album but with more of a personal angle than showing an unboxing video of the super deluxe as there are a hundreds of those kind of videos on Youtube currently.

We basically went back into the time machine to talk about how it was being a KISS fan when KISS wasn’t cool in the early 80’s. We talked about the music included in the various formats like the demo’s and live tracks with Vinnie Vincent in pretty good detail.

Some highlights were….

One of us got sprayed with perfume back in high school wearing a KISS shirt.

One of us also thought that “I Love It Loud” (live) wasn’t on the deluxe set.

One of us has Gene Simmons Money Bag Soda and could be seen swigging from the bottle of the Demon at the end of the show.

How’s that for hype!

Click the link below and give it a watch!

Cheers and Merry KISSMAS to you all out there!

Tim’s Vinyl Confessions – “Ratt Talk” with Jex, Deke, John and of course, Tim

RATT:

One of the most consistent hard rock bands to emerge from the early 1980s. Not an enormous catalogue, but enough to discuss, with a first time combo of TVC vet Jex, Deke and John. If you’re a Ratt fan, you’re going to enjoy this one.
