Inglorious – ‘V’ (2025) – Album Review

Do you know Inglorious? I am not sure enough people do, in my humble opinion. Fronted by powerhouse singer, Nathan James, Inglorious is a hard rock band (borderline metal) out of England that was formed in 2014. Through numerous line-up changes as Nathan cleaned house after the 3rd album was recorded but prior to its release (what, is he David Coverdale??), and again after the fourth, they are now back with a new line-up yet again…sort of. I say sort of because back is original bass player Colin Parkinson and man is he all over this album as he co-wrote the album with Nathan, he was the producer and that bass is the main focus on a lot of songs.

Along for the ride this time on the band’s fifth album, ‘V’, we have Guitarist Richard Shaw and Drummer Henry Rogers. There is also some Keyboard work with Tony Draper, but he isn’t officially a band member, he is actually the engineer and mixer of the album. Though the line-up has changed, Inglorious are still the same incredible band and maybe even a little heavier this time around. The one key element is that voice from Nathan James. There are not many people with his power and range. He is the one thing that sucked me in and kept me coming back for me. And now five albums in, Inglorious is getting better and better still.

I love it when an album opens with a song that is so explosive, so engaging and so freaking killer, that it sets the tone for the album and lets you know what to expect. With “Testify”, Inglorious have checked every box. That wicked bass line that opens things up and then right in to the nastiest guitar riff and powerful drum fills only to be accompanied by the great, powerful vocals is an opening statement that grabs hold and reels you in.

Maroon 5 – The Albums Ranked Worst to First

With Maroon 5 heading out for their next big tour this Summer, I thought I might go through and rank their albums from Worst to First.  With a span of 6 albums over 16 years, they have put out some great albums and a couple not so great ones.  I am going to keep this strictly to Maroon 5’s studio albums and not include any from them when they were known as Kara’s Flowers or any live or re-mix albums.  This will keep it simpler and keep me sane from digging into everything else that is out there.

Now, take a seat and lean back and read on and find out how I rank the Maroon 5 albums from Worst to First.  And of course, we will start with the Worst…

7 – THE WORST – ‘Jordi’ (2021):

I didn’t think they could keep going backwards, but they have done just that.  ‘Jordi’ is another example of a band that feels they have to have a “Featured” artists to get played on the radio.  They have Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R., blackbear, Nipsey Hussle to name only a few.  Out of the 14 songs on the Deluxe Edition, 9 have a guest artist featured on the song.  NINE!!!  That is INSANE!! Hollywood Undead – Five (V) – Album Review

Hollywood Undead brings us their fifth album simply titled Five or V.  The band is a fantastic mix of Hip Hop and Metal.  They don’t limit themselves to either genre as the album also mixes in some nice Pop and R&B sounds to bring a wide variety of styles and sounds in what might be there most infectious album.

The band members go by the monikers of Danny, Charlie Scene, J-Dog, Johnny 3 Tears and Funny Man.  They wear masks and the music is usually filled with anger and angst that is sure to draw you into a crazy, fun-filled ride.  This album does just that, but also is a departure from their previous efforts.

Maroon 5 – Deep Dive Playlist

I didn’t know what to listen to the other day, so I hit shuffle on my whole library.  An old Maroon 5 song came up and I really loved that song.  It wasn’t one of their hits, but it was just as good.  It got me thinking about all their songs.

Maroon 5 is more than the songs you hear on the radio.  Their albums are usually great all the way through. I love it when a band’s non-singles are just as good as their radio hits, if not even better.  As a result of this one song randomly popping up on my shuffle, I decided to dive deep into their albums and put together a playlist of the Deep Cuts.  It is what I like to call Deep Dive Playlist.

I have only done two others so far since I started the blog.  One for Def Leppard and one for Bon Jovi.  I hope you enjoy this one as much as people seem to enjoy the other ones.  Here is my Deep Dive Playlist for Maroon 5.  They are not being ranked, they are only a playlist. I love them all.

“How” off the album ‘Hands All  Over Me’: “How” was the song I mentioned that popped up in my shuffle and the inspiration for this deep dive playlist.  It is more of a ballad than a pure dance song and I love Adam’s voice in this song.  Come to think of it, I love Adam’s voice.  How a man can get that high is beyond me, but his voice is so unique and so recognizable the minute you hear it.
