I can’t believe it is August already. This year has flown. And it is time for yet another Friday of new releases. A couple of albums I am really excited to hear – The Dead Daisies and Skillet. There are also a bunch I will try to listen to as well. As usual, all the ones I am interested in the most are highlighted in Blue. It appears it is a Hard Rock Friday for me.
The Dead Daisies – Make Some Noise – (SPV) – The Dead Daisies are are Super Group mixed with Australian and American musicians. There have been several rotations in the band and on this album the band consists of David Lowy (Mink), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio & Burning Rain), Marco Mendozza (Whitesnake, Blue Murder & Black Star Riders), John Corabi (Motley Crue, The Scream) and Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Ozzy, Billy Idol). This should be another great release with such great musicians.
Skillet – Unleashed – (Atlantic Recording) – A Christian Rock Band out of Tennessee are back with their 10th album. Unreal. I can’t believe it is #10. They have been together for 20 years now. How they keep getting better with each release is beyond me. So many bands by year 20 have long since peaked, but not them.
Gov’t Mule – The Tel-Star Sessions – (Evil Teen Records) – Looking forward to another great release from this long-standing band. I just love me the Southern Rock mixed with a jam band style.
Jackyl – ROWYCO – (Mighty Loud) – Jesse James Dupree and the boys are back with some good old Southern Rock/Metal. They are a love ’em or leave ’em type band…right now I love ’em.
Suicide Squad: The album – Soundtrack – (Atlantic)
Dinosaur Jr. – Give Me A Glimpse of What Yer Not – (Jagjaguwar)
O.A.R. – XX – (Vanguard)
Elvis Presley – Way Down in the Jungle Room – (RCA Records)
Alan Jackson – Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story – (Sony Music Entertainment)
Blackfoot – Southern Native – (Loud & Proud Records)
Nick Fradiani – Hurricane – (Dot Records)
The Cadillac Three – Bury Me In My Boots – (Big Machine)
Various Artists – Now That’s What I Call Music, Vol 59 – (SBME Special Mkts)
Dead Daisies is a must.

Absolutely. Can’t wait to hear it. For me, Skillet is also a must and I listened to it already. It was great. Dead Daisies is up next.

Haven’t bought the Mule yet but I heard it playing in a shop and it sounded great. Definitely going to pick that up soon.

Yep, great name 😀. The guys can play though. Glad to hear. As you can tell from my site, I like a lot of things, but still need to listen to more things myself.

I always wonder how many “Now that’s What I Call Music” are they going to make?? I had a few of those sometime back. These lists are cool! Thanks for sharing them! 😊

Wow! I guess they’ll keep making them. They probably sell a lot of them.

They must. I would imagine since more people prefer to buy singles rather than whole albums and the collections have fairly current hits and are just a bunch of singles.

I was wrong. The U.K. Version is at 94, but there are 100’s of different albums across the globe. I googled it.
