Another great Friday with another huge selection of releases. However, the selections aren’t “huge’, if you know what I mean. There a handful I am interested in hearing, but nothing I am running out and buying. Streaming for me on these…unless one is so good it warrants a purchase. I wonder if I have gotten through all the ones from last week (I am writing this two weeks out) but I doubt it. Anyway, my choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear or if there is anything I missed. Enjoy and have a great weekend!!
Keane – Cause and Effect – (Island Records): Keane’s debut in 2004, ‘Hopes and Fears’ was fantastic and their second was pretty great as well. As a result, I do enjoy checking out anything they put out. Nothing has lived up to those two releases, but still find a golden nugget in each release and they hope is the same on this one. “Is It Any Wonder” why I would keep trying? Not really. Great English Pop.
Slash with Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators – Living the Dream Tour (Live) – (Snakepit Records): Let’s see…Slash √…Myles Kennedy √…both of them together √…and Live √…I don’t think I need any other reasons to “check” this out do I.
Jeremy Camp – The Story’s Not Over – (Sparrow Records): Christian Rock singer Jeremy Camp is back with his 12th release and he sounds as great as ever. “Dead Man Walking” is exactly what I like from him. A rock song with a little pop sensibilities and a great beat mixed with a lot of energy and power. If the rest of the album follows this formula, this could be good.
And the rest…
Zac Brown Band – The Owl – (No Reserve/BMG): I’m not huge on new country, but Zac is pretty cool.
Blink 182 – Nine – (Viking Wizard Eyes/Columbia): I’m not sure why I care because they haven’t been anything since Tom DeLonge left, but I will listen anyway…you never know…maybe it is good.
Liam Gallagher – Why My? Why Not. – (Warner Music): Liam Gallagher of Oasis tries again to show he is the better brother, but does anyone care…probably not. I just want something good to listen to…maybe this one will be. The song below is pretty good and I love his singing.
We Three – We’re All Messed Up…But It’s Okay – (Palawan Productions): These 3 called We Three were on America’s Got Talent and they were pretty good. The kids liked them as well. It is an E.P. so I will give it a try and see what they offer. I think they had an album last year that wasn’t bad. We will see.
No video for this E.P….yet
And the rest who knows…
As I Lay Dying – Shaped By Fire – (Nuclear Blast)
Michael Schenker Fest – Revelation – (Nuclear Blast)
Exhorder – Mourn the Southern Skies – (Nuclear Blast)
Samantha Fish – Kill or Be Kind – (Rounder Records)
Tove Lo – Sunshine Kitty – (Universal Music)
Bruce Cockburn – Crowing Ignites – (High Romance Music)
Robbie Robertson – Sinematic – (Universal Music)
Fitz & the Tantrums – All the Feels – (Elektra Records)
Herb Albert – Over the Rainbow – (Herb Albert Records)
Things are somewhat picking up which is cool! May have to grab that Slash one at some point. Grabbed the last two so what’s another one added to the pile right?

Lots of releases, but nothing huge for me. October is going to be huge as I already have something purchased for every Friday of the month.

Atta Boy
I had the Cult preordered through Amazon for the CD set for Oct 18th but there is an unavailable listing for it but I’m not cancelling it as it had dropped by 20 bucks
Who knows but they have the vinyl set but it’s too pricey
I’ll wait it out as I did purchase the 9 live tracks from the box set as I had too hahaha

Don’t cancel. You still might get.

No worries it’s sitting there until they figure it out.

Matt Skiba > Tom Delonge! Tom hasn’t done anything decent in close to 20 years. Blink are better off without him!
I have enough live Slash, so that’s a definite pass, and Liam can F off! People say his solo stuff is good but his personality is far from it…

Nope, they haven’t. I am kinda with you on Slash. I will listen, but buying it is not on my list. And for Liam, you are right, he is an ass. But I love his music. I do struggle wanting to listen to it, but I always give in in the end.

Slash has a few live albums out now, eh? You can almost guarantee that each studio album will be followed by a live set from the tour. Anyhoo, not a lot here that interests me this week.

Yep, not an overly exciting week. I’m listening mostly to last week’s releases.

I think I got my buddy interested! Playing at some night club we never heard before. I’ll convince him to go when I see him for Samantha Fish. 😉

Do it man. U will not be disappointed. My review of Sloan will pump u up. Like I said they always come out at the merch table to talk and sign stuff. Chris Murphy(bass) is one cool guy. I told him the first time I met him I said I’m a hack writer for a music blog. Chris replied with ‘Cool, don’t trash our shit too hard!’ haha
Just chill and super friendly guys..
